This was a trip down memory lane. Something I miss since switching to a new phone is the option on my old OnePlus 7 Pro where I could choose the type of gesture navigation. Which makes using your phone one handed much more difficult.

These bring back memories. I have actually decided to get an iPhone for my next phone just to try it out with an iwatch. The main reason is because android just isn't as cool to me anymore. Used to have so much customization and cool features, now it seems like android is gradually moving to be like iOS being easy to use and only good at necessities. I also hate that android can give up on certain features just for apple to bring it back, then android brings it back too. Ie Google wallet you could pay with your phone, android slowly dropped it, apple launches Apple pay years later, then android comes back with android pay, and now it's called Gpay. It always seems like Google and android don't want to set the new standard like apple does.

Chop-Chop-to-flash is useful sometimes but is annoying sometimes, like when i'm running slowly/jogging, the chopchop motion is created and the flashlight turns on/off few times. About 16: Those physical buttons were nice, but many people don't like them, as a result they are gone. It makes me sad, because I think they were much more reliable. Also on screen buttons don't function properly till now in some softwares (like they cannot be hidden in any pdf-viewer's landscape mode). I think on screen buttons costs much more than they benefit.

Maybe if you have only 2-3 apps sending you notifications it's fine, but how do you differentiate the several blue apps (fb, messenger, messages, twitter, outlook, calendar, etc)? Or any other colour for that matter. With the AoD, you can see the exact icons at a glance a decide if they are relevant much more easily.

Features have only ever been defined as taking away precious functions by corporations. There is no good explanation for why the micro SD card slot was taken away, and IR blasters are a fantastic way to keep all of your remotes in your pocket at once. Nah the headphone jack is just as useful as ever mate , but like all the other missing features , its all about profit mate , these company's can fit all these features very cheaply , lets say the headphone jack costs $2 per unit to install , if they sell 10 million units without the headphone jack , then they just put 20 million in company's coffers extra profit , and mr oozy pops the CEO gets a handsome Christmas bonus ! Make no mistake , none of this about not being able to fit them in , and everything about making more profit , and we did not even mention they can now upsell the customers some expensive buds or headphones , charger . These company's are not transparent , but you can see right through them.

With holding down the navigation buttons not only could you do split screen, but the other one opened a 3 dot menu for easier one handed use. How about when app icons were there true shape before copying CrApplewhere they all need to be the same round square shape with white filler shade-ins. Heck, system apps used to look cool and not something you could replicate in a few simple steps using basic shapes on Word. Having the camera image and video buttons next to eachother instead of crapple's scrolling. I'd rather not have a full screen phone and an area above the screen for the camera so there isn't a pimple/notch cropping my display. Headphone jacks, task manager, heartrate monitor, bring phone to ear to call gesture, fun classic ringtones unlike today's several weird/embarrassing ones, pinning multiple apps open instead of just 1 keep open app, holding down on the homepage dots and sliding through your different pages with the annimation. I'm surprised you can still tap on a homepage dot to get directly to that page without having to keep swiping to get there in a way to copy crapple ios. Today, phones don't really get better anymore. Kill off some features that crapple is to ignorant to have bit just stay a touch above and not add new ones in. Other than that and making the camera bairly better than the last one its the same user experience as on the last several generations.

For some reason Google's camera app no longer supports double tap to flip to selfie cam.. And I wish OnePlus's "drawing shapes" on lock screen would become a native Android feature, such an easy way to turn on flashlight, etc..

it uses a shake feature now. if you do like a wrist flick twice. its nice actually, i feel like both are equally good though

Swipe up or down would work on samsung (not sure on other phones, but I think some did as well). And yeah I miss the gestures shortcut as well.

Blobs are the best. At least they brought them back through Emoji Kitchen, but I'd love to see them as emojis.

Samsung right now still can be a tv remote tho. You can find it in quick settings panel. If not you can find it in edit buttons in quick panel.

About holding on navigation keys, when I rooted my phone and used Gravitybox, I did alot of customizations to my nav keys, like holding multitask will start screen recording - holding return may take screenshot etc.. I noticed through my usage, sometimes I just hold return like not want to close the app immediately or in a baffle to close or not. But it was taking screenshots so it was an annoying, and inconvenient for daily usage.

Android as an OS is lightyears ahead of what iOS can be. The design, features and the customisation are all *chef's kiss*. iOS still feels like an OS back from the 2008.
