Samsung actually ruined Camera experience for developers and other Android devices. Google created standard 3rd party camera API called Camera X and Camera 2 but Samsung doesn't utilized them and made custom API and partnered with some apps. So, almost no app uses the standard Camera X API and all other Android maker using.

On Pixels, the "Clear All" button is located on the far left instead of being below the apps like Samsung does. This means, when you want to clear all apps (aka close all apps), you must scroll to the far left to hit the clear apps button.

Firefox on android has extensions including uBlock origin. But if you'd like to explore other Firefox forks you'll find that they support way more extensions as compared to the stock default app.

Android needs to be more cohesive now. Every oem coming with their own versions of basic apps like messaging, phone, etc needs to end. There should be only one app across all android phones.

You forgot about the Themed Icons still being in Beta. It's an easy task that me being someone with limited Android App Development knowledge had made contribution to an open-source app to implement the Themed Icon. Google can make requirement for Themed Icon to be allowed on Playstore which can fix it or either take iOS approach of make icons look ugly which will push developers to update it to make it look good.

i'd love to see the flashlight slider. i know the api exists on the newer versions and on supported phones (i'm using flashdim on my P8P) but i'd like to see them integrate it into the quick toggle like how apple has it. and one other minor thing, tapping on the status bar to go to the top of the page, really minor but makes a lot of improvement to the day to day usage.

The biggest beef i have with Oxygen OS post OnePlus 8 is moving the media output toggle to notification drawer 3 dots. It was very nicely placed beneath the volume adjustment notification, where you can easily see which blutooth device was connected to blutooth and toggle from there itself. Tried getting to the thread of this setting in OnePlus community, but didn't find one. It's utter nonsense to switch output from oneplace, then going to altogether a diffrent place on the screen to adjust volume after switching output.

Right out the gate you're giving into a fallacy by saying "stock Android". Nothing on the market is stock. Entry single installation of the OS on every single phone is customized and fixed up to work properly in some way or another. LTT did a video on true stock Android straight compiled from the open source code and it's horrible.

Horrible isn't the right term dated is the right term. *Real* stock Android died after Oreo because the Nexus 6P and 5X were finally out of support. The stock apps they had in the LTT build looked worse than the older Lolipop era stock apps somehow though.

Google should clean up the play store. If an app isn’t up to standards (also design wise) it must go. I love the Pixel, but so many apps behave much more reliable on my iPhone 12 mini. Quality over quantity and I would ditch my iPhone within an hour.

I just want a way to use "pro" camera apps with full sensor resolution but Google refuses to unlock the permissions for devs. Zoom fx, protake etc used to be an amazing replacement for shooting RAW with full manual controls when sensors were smaller but now that they're all limited to 12mp while sensors are consistently sitting around the 50mp mark they're basically unusable due to the huge drop off in image quality.

I love Smart Launcher, and would love to see better integration from Android with the recents menu, currently I just use my phone with animations disabled, mainly because that removes the horrible delay that is introduced to the third party launchers when switching apps.

Phones from different manufacturers can actually be different when you use them, at least when it comes to certain functions. even the settings menu in the phone can differ between two mobile phones from the same manufacturer, for example Samsung, at least it used to be that way

The Android Autofill service is one more area where Google still leads with its inbuilt password manager. It can autofill passwords in almost all apps without any major issues, while third-party password managers still fail to detect the password field in some apps. When you autofill a password in an app, a third party password manager would take you to its app, and then return back to the app where it should autofill. But Google's password manager opens in an overlay mini window and is much faster. Similarly Chrome is much faster and is more lightweight than most other major android browsers.

Im using Swiftkey as my keyboard and Bitwarden for autofill and the accounts show up in the suggestion bar after you tapped the login field. But I in a few rare cases I get the bug where it doesnt show up at all. Very rare though.

On Pixel phones long screenshot is possible only with the key combo. If you use the gesture (swipe up) the long screenshot option dosnt appear. Also dosent work with all browser (with Samsung UI all works perfectly) It's so crazy and frustrating.
