Same here. No complaints. But you missed a couple major points with the Zippo kit. God bless. 👍🏽

My nearest Walmart has recently started carrying Lifestraws again. Even though I carry two survival blankets with me, I keep two Wool blankets in my car. Yes, I keep a dozen pill cloths in my get home bag along with two 50' Paracord. I have a great physical library. I wish someone would make an affordable ration bar in some flavor other than apple. I have my get home bag in a full size backpack. I also have a smaller backpack with first aid supplies to wear on my front to get home as well as use whenever needed. I have a couple solar lamps in my car. I have a few glow sticks in my get home bag. I have a substantial fire making kit in the bag. Keep Prepping my friends.

Something to be said about the Zippo Typhoon Match Kit: they burn for about 30 seconds. And they'll keep burning after being dunked in water. Best I've ever seen

A couple of options maybe for Europeans, Hultafors GK. Inexpensive, great steel and built like a tank. Water to go filter bottles, there's a video on YT of a guy filtering his babies diaper contents and drinking the remaining water, very good water filters. Clipper lighters, all-round better than Bics and widely available in Europe. For a cheap sharpening system the Work Sharp pocket sharpener is basic but it's (almost) foolproof and you won't ruin your blade using a pull through sharpener, available in America and Europe. As regards shelter a poncho is a multi use item, I got an inexpensive one with grommets in the fishing section of a major outdoor retailer, doesn't reflect heat as well as mylar but you can wear your shelter if you are on the move.

I think some nice work gloves could be added to the list. You don't wanna cut or burn your hands on accident. Preventing injury is better than treating it. I use wells lamont leather work gloves and they last me quite a while, around $15 or so. A BRS outdoor gas cooking stove would also be good if you find yourself in a situation where making a fire isn't an option and you need to boil water for something. It's like $17. The fuel is separate, but thats also under $20. You can also use these items outside of just prepping too

one thing i'd carry especially at home for us that are older, are Large Fresnel lens, can get sometimes at our local dollar store and are about 8x10 rough guess handy when glasses are available and or starting a fire during the day if lighter isnt handy and as a back up .

Another useful sharpening tool is a Speedy Sharp - small, lightweight and quite effective. As with other sharpening tools, I would recommend that folks learn how to use it before they need it.

Looks like I have everything on your list, with some brand variations. Love my Mora knives. I own 3 now so I can have one in each bag ("bug out" and "get home") plus one for bushcrafting.

I'm gonna push back on the sharpener part. I have 2 micro wet stones one in my big kit and one in my micro kit. They were like 7$ total I believe and have a rough and fine side. Not as good as a full sharpening set up but much better than scissor sharpeners.

Very good and sound advice. I already have most of the items you suggested, by my own research. I do suggest the lifestraw collapsible/durable peak. It allows you to carry the water. est. $35 I did not know about the micropur katadyn tablets. Just purchased it, thanks.

Having a heavier duty reflective blanket is a great idea. I still carry a couple of cheapy mylar blankets in case I need to wrap someone else and don't want to worry about losing the blanket.
