After testing MANY combinations, I found that the stock pilot jet, a 115 main jet, and the needle clip in the next to lowest slot on the needle is working perfectly on my bike at near sea level elevations. The idle fuel screw adjustment will vary on each bike some but mine is about 2 turns out.

Best jetting combination for Honda XR150L at near sea level is: Stock pilot jet (cant find any replacements), a 115 main jet, needle clip in the next to lowest position on the needle. Set idle fuel mixture screw as needed but mine is about 2 turns out.

Your experiments are though provoking..... I know you'd had some reservations about that "pump" near the exhaust in the case of high heat..... a legit concern & if I were stuck w/ that Carb I'd have used heat tape on the inside of the manifold but you went to this & I await your conclusion. No numbers on the jets..... is there a measuring spindle like a feeler gauge but round for jet sizes? Most would never use them but 1 time but you got me asking dumb questions. What I won't do is ask about how you know if the snake was poison or not b/c I wouldn't F#@K w/ any of them....lol, almost all bites in the US are people who're trying to pick up a snake. Like 14 a yr die but most got hit on their hand/arm messing w/ them. Watching & waiting to hear how this performs for you? peace

There is a way to size jets, but I don't have that tool on hand. I just put in a known main jet (120 was to big and the 115 main jet worked much better at near sea level). The "odd ball" pilot jet works (think its a size 40) with the needle raised to its next to highest position (clip in the next to lowest slot on the needle). It was a cotton mouth snake, its mouth was open when I went by, and it was obvious. A wide diamond shaped head is a venomous giveaway also. If you want to get close enough to one you can also tell by a snakes eyes. I will pass on that (I have been bit before, and it's no fun).

Yeah, I take everything in as your so kind to share this stuff w/ us..... I was making fun of others w/ snakes since most of those who get bit are those who would stop to mess w/ them. I've never seen anyone who got bitten while they were on their bike moving along. I guess it's possible but highly unlikely plus you wear heavier shoes/boots out there. I'm looking at all you do on this little bike since this is the only bike that I'll be able to by new & I like not having to guess whether a used bike was properly taken care of. That makes your work all the more important to me. Be safe & I'll be waiting after ya'll go ride..... take care this weekend.

@user-dv7hb2sc9m We try to let nature do its own thing as much as possible. Sometimes, situations present themselves in a way that you just gotta take care of business. This wasn't one of those times. We saw it in its own element and left it that way (without provoking it or getting very close).
