Please, please make a clip on effective methods to develop and refine "relative pitch". This one is my biggest block in music. Thanks.

James Schlesselman if you’re an apple user, there’s a great app called “complete ear trainer”, if not, there’s a plenty of other apps that work just fine. I think it’s a great way to start 👍🏿 for me it works the best if you do small chunks every day (like 5 mins) and build your way up, rather than doing it once a week for an hour.

A friend just sent me this and just wow. Neither of us are professional musicians and this was relevant to us too. Side note, I can sense some exasperation in your voice which I loved and made me laugh out loud bc as an educator I totally understand those feels. Those are the bits imma focus on first 😜

Ruslan ____ you mentioned an 'Up coming Book. As a 'Guitar player', that does not read Staff, would this book be of any Value to us guitar players. ( I use Modes, Scale degrees, and 'Roman Numeral Chord designations ).

+Donn Goodside I’m afraid not my friend. The examples and exercises are notated. I wish I had a way to help you read it in some other way

JEREMY LAREZ thank you. I’m a little torn on what kind of videos to make. On the one hand I want to make super advanced videos about Motivic development and stuff like that. On the other hand I realize that most people are probably not on the level where they need that advanced stuff and they probably need help with more basic stuff, like in this video.

@@ruslanpiano a mix of the two sounds great! I just discovered some of your vids, awesome job, thanks!
@ruslanpiano6 жыл бұрын
Ruben1459 Thank you brother. That’s probably what I will end up doing. It’s just that KZbinrs don’t recommend doing that since it confuses the audience and you don’t end up attracting neither the advanced demographic (they get repulsed by the beginner videos) nor the beginner demographic (they get repulsed by the advanced videos). And your channel stays small and doesn’t really grow past 4-5 thousand subscribers, who are a dire minority and are the only ones don’t mind the mixing of the two kinds of videos.

@@ruslanpiano I think that is maybe right in some cases but maybe the channel of those KZbinrs stay small because of various other reasons. I immediately think of an opposite example of music and jazz KZbinrs like Aimee Nolte or Rick Beato, who both grew their channels very big (above 100000) in a short period of time (2 years?) . They both cover beginner's, intermediate and super advanced stuff. But more importantly I think that it's all about the person and the style of teaching. Sometimes two people try to tell me the same thing in a very similar way but it only resonates with me how one explains it to me. I'm at an intermediate level of jazz, guitarist and singer but beginner of piano, and like to watch both, the beginner's and the very advanced level videos. The beginner videos teach me how different people approach different things and remind me of what I have to go back to and what I lack of. And the advanced stuff gives me a glimpse on where I want to go and give me more context to understand where I am now. And I think that good quality of both, the videos and their content will always win. Also consistency and same intervalls of posting new content is important for KZbin. Maybe try to do more KZbin collaborations? (I came from the video you did with weeklypiano) - Just some thoughts I had... I love the genuine yet very thoughtful and wise way you communicate things. Your videos always leave me with not only more knowledge but a smile on my face and a warm feeling for humanity. You have such great wisdom and knowledge of music and everything relating plus such a positive aura. I'm sure your channel will take off at one point. I will stick around, no matter what level. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience☀️

My point on the first thought was, that it might be the good marketing of yourself, the brand, that succeeds in most cases. A brand versus niche thing...
