I love how the person who said wow made the mistake, pretty realistic
@moose68692 жыл бұрын
Ain't it amazing how that works? It's a common theme along pretty much anything in life. > Person makes bad decision > Bad thing happens > "It's obviously not my fault but X thing or person, or groups fault." 😆😆

Typically literally true. The what a save and wow guys are ones who can’t defend and ball chasers lol

BONUS TIP! In 3s especially, always look for/try to be a passing option out of defense - the “outlet pass”. Makes for a quick transition from offense to defense and is much more effective than trying to solo play the ball out of your corner and getting dunked back to your end. Great tips here
@floorsbychrisable2 жыл бұрын
Great advice I actually came here to make sure someone said this. In threes you can fake challenge on your side line, let the ball over your head to your teammate, streak up sideline, grab mid boost and play the pass up wall or towards midfield. If its not there, you have boost/momentum to get back to far post for defense and to demo their 3rd in rotation.

This is one of the most helpful videos i have seen and i have seen many. As a C1 i make most of these mistakes. Except the Wow! which i never do but wow quick chats are a plague, very high chance if you get a diamond teammate u r going to see it sent to you ASAP. C2 and higher version is 'Nice Shot' when you make a less than optimal touch.
@tristandefarge59062 жыл бұрын
I'm C2-3 and I still use nice shot genuinely even on shots that could be more optimal. As someone that enjoy passing , it's way better to encourage the team mate to shoot it than to pass a ball and discover that no one decided to hit it. 😂

So I use most if not all of these tactics in game but I continue to get teammates who don't use any of these tactics at all. I feel like I'm just purposely stuck in an algorithmic whirlpool of bad players or respectfully, players who don't take progression seriously in comp. I know I hear partying up moves you up and most of the time I'm placed against a party, but is it possible to get placed in a bad apple basket or it's got to something I'm missing and im actually the issue?

The only problem is the casual audience that rocket league over encourages to play ranked will never see this, and that's the problem with the ranking system. You can literally float at a rank below you for most of a season due to all the random unranked matches you will get.

Now I think most know that these rules doesn't apply at ALL times, but I still find it important to say; that especially in higher ranks closer to and above ssl, gameplay tend to vary a lot more, therefore needing far more gameplay variation based on how the game goes, but these rules still apply most of the time!

@thecamlayton2 жыл бұрын
You have to hold gas AND go straight to keep supersonic. Turning lowers your speed. Driving straight with gas does not.
@LPStormstar2 жыл бұрын
u need to boost in interval sections to get the fast speed possible otherwise u lose, speed when u turn ur car. Just tip a tiny bit on your boost button and u get back to supersonic.
@TONT4320 Жыл бұрын
Yeah that supersonic tip is misleading. If you turn at all it reduces momentum and will slow you down. I think there are very few situations where you will want to reach supersonic and then continue in a perfectly straight line.

I don’t blame my teammates. The only thing that pisses me off is that they never watch the goal to see if it’s open. I used to stay hovering around the goal to keep it safe. Now I push and if it’s been open and we get scored on, I bash them about knowing the goal has priority.

Flakes teaches not to cheat up on kickoffs. Cool to hear both perspectives
@shadowyzephyr2 жыл бұрын
Only cheat up on kickoffs if you are GC or above. High ranks erroneously think that "because it works here, it must work in lower ranks!" It doesn't. People champ and below are very inconsistent with kickoffs and you will get scored on a lot more than you get goals if you cheat up.
@invizibleyez2 жыл бұрын
Cheating on kickoffs is great assuming the person doing the kickoff doesn't completely screw up the kickoff. At lower levels, kickoffs are definitely not that controlled, so i would recommend not cheating up unless you know your teammate is going to have some sort of control at kickoff.
@MDR26572 жыл бұрын
Yo, here me out. Boost management and recoveries are critically important for moving up to champ/GC. Especially if you can't hit double flip reset musty double tap pogo stall reset freestyle shots consistently... 🤦🏼♂️ I can't help with recoveries, BUT! Make your boost trail something SO OBNOXIOUS that it's impossible to not notice. Will you look good? No. Will you learn boost management faster and quit boosting once your supersonic and likely win more? Probably. 👍 And take off your damn topper. No one cares. 🤣
