Don't be afraid to do things out of order to increase your survivability. This is the most true in Act 1 which I believe is the hardest act. So one might go east until they hit hard monsters, go west until they hit hard monsters, go north until they hit hard monsters and then pick off the easiest monsters to hardest monsters that are left.

@@orlock20 there are basically no hard fights in act 1 if you are careful and start every fight while sneaking so every single character gets advantage on his first attack + surprised so enemies skip their first turn. the few fights u stumble upon where u can't do this aren't too hard.

@@wruzzer One can be level 3 facing level 5 and 6 enemies. In my last play through, I played with all magic users so a third level magic user gets one shotted by a 5th level enemy.

@@orlock20 if you get the first turn AND the second turn cause of surprise, there is basically nothing left to kill you even with a full wizard party. there are also lvl 1 spells like shield. btw, paladin, cleric, wild magic barbarian (kinda) and eldritch knight are also magic users, and they are pretty tanky. cleric is even a full caster. druid can also be pretty tanky, full caster as well.

Here is my TIP , when you fighting alot of Ranged enemys, drop Darkness on your group , they can't shoot at you, on your turn get out of Darkness , shoot your bow or cast a spell and get back inside darkness, really nice against multiple ranged enemys like in the Blighted Village.

I’ve learned this the hard way in the House of Grief’s boss battle. Those enemies basically nullified my mage and I was so unprepared for them the first time. Nevertheless I also learned you can emulate those Shar’s followers builds by equipping items that makes immune to blinded and give you advantage when you are obscured. Absolutely broken with assassins and rangers.

This is a much more robust strategy with one or more Warlocks in your party. None of the racial or magically bestowed variants of darkvision protect against magical darkness, but the devilsight available as an invocation does. Warlocks equipped with devilsight can shoot into and out of darkness without moving out of it, and don't have disadvantage on melee either. Very OP. My main is a 5 warlock 7 Sorc and he drops darkness whenever there is heavy incoming ranged, and I use darkness when outnumbered in melee as well. Good video

On my main, I put a potion in my overall bag, then next to it, a backpack for potions. Then a throwable and a bag for throwables (greese bottles, explosives, arrows, etc). None of my characters ever carry anything that is not useful for battle. Everything gets sent to camp. In camp, I use distinctive looking chests to sort stuff. Everything I'm going to sell goes in the fish bucket. Stuff I'll never sell goes in a guilded chest. The chest with the skull on top from the goblin camp holds all weapons and armor that I want to keep, the rest go into the fish bucket and get sold. Dead bodies go into the cartilagenous chest. Any chest I don't need for sorting gets sold. I do keep one of each sldistinctive looking chest in the do-not-sell builded chest for sentimental reasons. Doesn't take me much time to do all the sorting because sort by type does most of the heavy lifting and shift click allows me to move large numbers of objects into the fish bucket after I've cherry picked out anything I want to keep. I watch folks play on twitch and their inventories give me nightmares. Whenever u see someone get encumbered..... why? Send to camp is your friend!

List of spells I use with camp casters: Aid, Warding Bond, Freedom from Movement, Poison Protection, Longstrider, Feast of Heroes, Sunlight or Light

If you group your party up into a tight group you can throw items with "Potion" in their name on the ground at your feet and everyone gets the benefit. Health potions, invis potions, potions of speed etc.

one thing regarding potions in a min/maxing sense: potions of hill giants strength (or eventually cloud giant but this is specific to act 1) really make strength an irrelevant stat if youre maybe a paladin who also likes charisma or an open hand monk who likes wisdom. Auntie Ethel in the druid grove will have 3 of these every single day or inventory refresh if you want to just stock up and be set for the entirety of the game. You want to avoid heading down the path south of the blighted village as circumstances in that area cause her to leave but as long as shes in the grove, take advantage. You can dump strength and still have more than would even be possible before lvl 8 (or 6 for fighter)

Had never even looked at the Transmutation Wizard. All the ingredients you find start to way you down, and taking the time to figure out which to keep rather than sell is a pain, so just giving them all to a camp hirling with high Wisdom solves that problem. megatip for mages: there is a button in the spells page that show u ALL your magic scrolls that he can learn the learn price and if he have a discount for trascribe , but the scrolls must be in the main inventory

you didnt put a warning that only 1 elixir can be used at a time, using another one will overwrite the previous elixir. Using hirelings to give you perma buff was a brilliant idea. Another one you missed out is that you can throw flasks if you gather your party close by you can throw potion and it will heal all the members if in range, this is useful for potion of speed where you can give that haste buff to 2 or all party members. I also think you should have discussed about the new difficulty modes especially the new one.

I just wanted to point out a smaller thing with merchant prices, at 08:55. What is said in the video is correct for buying items from a merchant. For selling items though I am pretty sure it is attitude, as for buying, and rank in the skill Persuasion, not charisma modifier directly, that decides the price you get.

Also a good strategy right before you fight is to separate each player and use hide to put them in the best spot for your class. Also u can surprise the enemy.
