Well actually, I live in Steenwijk, the main city of our county (Steenwijkerland) were Giethoorn also belongs to! But the locals from the county avoid Giethoorn in high season if it is possible, to busy with tourists, we go just before high season or right after. A lot of the locals who live in the center on the canals of Giethoorn go on vacation in the high season to actually "flee" from the tourists. The locals from Giethoorn don't always like the tourist though because the tourist think that Giethoorn is an open air museum so they going on the peoples property to look trough the windows or "recreate" in their gardens, and yes, of ALL kinds of it... So if you come to our beautiful county and visit Giethoorn, know that all the houses are property of people and you are traspassing. And they are certainly NO places were you can "recreate" in ANY way!!! There are some museum house but that is clearly indicated, you know when you see it. Have fun!

You should look into Monte Cristo, Washington State. It's a ghost town northwest of Monte Cristo Peak, in eastern Snohomish County in western Washington. The town was active as a mining area for gold and silver from 1889 to 1907, and later became a resort town that operated until 1983. There are still said to be a few ol' timers lookin' for gold in them thar hills..

Jerome, AZ is so much more beautiful that what you see in this vid. They have an old timey movies theater there that shows silent films and also a documentary about how Jerome came to be. They also had a very cool camera museum with statues and mannequins of Charlie Chaplin, Frankenstein and Elvis. This was in 2021 when we were there.

I am interested in the filmed content of this video. Unfortunately the narrative content is so badly written and so badly delivered that it is impossible to watch. One viewer asks if you really have to continue "blathering on." That is an accurate description of a poorly written and narrated video. I simply cannot watch it. I cannot. Now stop.
