You have to take into account water table and flooding are major factors to divert water away and eliminate humidity and mold. Have a plumbing leak, you need to break the solid surfaces to get to pipes. Above ground is prefered because it is cheaper, and easier and more familiar to repair. There has been a movement in part of New Zealand of underground bunkers built by the wealthy incase of emergency beneath their seasonal mansions. But it is a very sustainable design for some locations, eliminating all need for A/C indoors.

Images of the hardships of many Africans living in dilapidated homes, surrounded by waste, are truly heartbreaking and disturbing. Their plight is a stark reminder of the injustice and disparity between rich and poor in our global society. What are the underlying causes of this poverty and environmental degradation, and what can we do to support them not only in overcoming their current situation, but also in creating sustainable changes for their future?

@@bassmouter4694 This situation is unfortunate and can cause frustration, because it not only causes property damage but also shows a lack of understanding and respect for the culture and living rules of the host country. This is an important reminder of the importance of communication, learning about each other's cultures, and respecting regulations when living or working in another country. This needs to be handled tactfully and cooperatively to avoid misunderstandings and build mutual understanding.

@@psulux Maybe you should bring suit against the municipality that approved a design that is apparently dangerous to birds. Somewhere in the planning department they dropped the ball. Or you could express your position by finding a different place to live while protesting the existence of this monstrosity that is a danger to wildlife and move out in protest! If I was in your position and I really wanted to back-up my point of view, I would give up my home for the birds, regardless of the costs and detriment this would cause my children and spouse, or economic damage to my community. Houses with windows should NEVER be built where there's any chance birds will fly into dangerous situations such as reflective windows.

Fermont's windbreak wall it's a stretches 1.3 km, protecting the town from the prevailing north winds. Known simply as The Wall, Fermont's central structure houses 344 apartment units, community and municipal services, a school, and healthcare and recreational facilities (arena, pool and exhibition space), as well as a shopping centre, all linked by a temperature-controlled indoor promenade. Fermont is situated above the 52nd parallel which places it in the same latitude as Alaska and Siberia. Montreal's underground City !! Nearly 500,000 people use it per day. It is also the largest underground complex in the world. It stretches for 32 kilometers (20 miles) and covers 4 million square meters (one and a half square miles).

This has been the most interesting, intriguing, horrifying, beautiful architectural designs and dwellings I have ever seen. I am afraid of heights, so walking on paths etched on mountain face would be extremely difficult for me. Although some of the landscape views are absolutely stunning, the ingenuity of those architectural designs looked challenging but beautiful. I'm a new subscriber. Please keep sharing the innovation of architectural design and locations. I'm quite intrigued. ❤ Makes me want to travel.

Were it not for this unique video, I could not have gained new insight & even its existence about these rather pleasantly idiosyncratic & intriguing houses around the world. Especially, those Chinese architectural marvels whether hanging at the side of the vertical cliff or the ultra-modern buildings in the city simply amaze me w/ astonishment, or am I an exceptional?,,,,Soundly enjoyed & appreciated it to the core at the opulent comfort of my residence in California.
