You should pay very close attention to the events that are unfolding all around us because the world seems to be entering a very dangerous era. Major conflicts are erupting in many important areas for global agriculture, oil drilling, and industrial production, and we're already seeing the impact of this in our grocery, gas, and energy bills every month. Things could take a drastic turn for the worse if the United States had to actively intervene in such conflicts, or - Gob forbid - if we were under attack. With no solution in sight, and rising tensions all over the globe, we can only hope this situation doesn't escalate any further.
But the truth is that we can't rely just on hope. So we've got to prepare. If you're familiar with the preparedness lifestyle, you already know you need to plan ahead to protect yourself and your family. Whether it's a natural disaster, or a human-made emergency, we should always assess the essential resources we depend on that could be scarce during a crisis.
At this point, we all know that our just-in-time global supply chains offer little resilience against disruption. An unexpected event can result in widespread shortages and massive price hikes, and many essential items can disappear quickly from store shelves. In some cases, depending on how critical the situation gets, stores may stop serving the public altogether. Plus, wasting time and precious resources trying to find survival items at the last minute is never a good position to be in.
