Just speaking for myself, I already knew the US military and all militaries behave this way, and that all kinds of illegal, depraved things were done by the rich and powerful. So it wasn't a news flash to me. It was more of a curiosity, that this guy bothered to start this website. And unsurprisingly, the feds eventually came after him. And to me there's something unfortunate about this cult of personality that has predictably grown around him. So obviously justice has been served, and good for him. And the world is pretty much as corrupt as it's always been or worse, with no change in that regard, and a grim, uncertain future lies ahead. At least this particular saga is finally over...

Any personal working in the US Government or any of ita many arms incl intelligence agencies. You are sworn in. With that comes great responsibility and you are bounded by law to speak up if you see corruption, criminal acts occurring. The problem here is that staff can not do that. Because if they do, they will be killed. Therefore whistle blowers are extremely important. As are public users, which Wikileaks was at the time for exposing the material on behalf of unknown staff within the Government. Publishers, journalists have first amendment protection. This should never have gone this far. The DNC were just panicking and were angry because their own dirty secrets came out, illegal behavior of officials. So if you want to talk about “Integrity” and “Respect”, this is what whistleblowers and publishers must go through to expose what has become a highly criminal dangerous political “Democratic” party which has anything but democracy in them! Now that is terrifying. And the Mainstream media who were also caught in the Wikileaks dump for COLLUDING with the DNC, the democratic officials is also extremely dangerous for the Democracy. They have become far too radical, communist and fascist and they should not call themselves the Democratic Party when they openly are so incredibly corrupt and dangerous to our democracy. Do you people not understand just how dangerous it gets when the mainstream Meade colludes with a political party (The “democratic” party) ??? They have zero respect or integrity. They act quite similar to Hitlers brown shirts. Just look at hiw Hitler took control over all the media and brainwashed the masses, Look at the fee democratic biters left out there today, They are often the ones screaming their heads of how Trump will destroy their democracy when it’s the Democratic Party who is destroying and has been CAUGHT doing it. Many of these Dem voters also harass, attack, de platform all republicans that they can because they can5 accept that people in USA votes for Trump for example. That is Democracy?? To attack others who don’t share the same beliefs as yourself? Voting the most crucial vital part of democracy! Yet democrat do NOT accept people who votes differently. Tell me HOW they they have the gall to call themselves “Democrats”. Please enlighten me. If I have misunderstood the above replies, please let me know. Because “Resoect and Integrity” can’t be said with the current Democratic Party. It’s impossible because they are anything but democratic. .

Actually, he could sue for defamation -- they accused of him of "rapes" that never happened, of espionage despite having no foreign government as his sponsors, of being a terrorist while having committed no real crimes himself... etc...
@alexanderSydneyOz6 ай бұрын
Boy some people have themselves on don't they? He was never in custody of the US authority so he could hardly sue them for civil rights violations. It was the swedish police who accused him of sexual assault and that had nothing to do with Australia or the us or the UK. He was held in prison in UK for skipping bail and you will go to gaol anywhere for doing that. Later he's been held in prison pursuant to an extradition agreement between the UK and the US and that is 100% a legal process. Assange via WikiLeaks published highly sensitive government information and literally put at risk the lives of numerous people who dealt with and provided information to the state department. There was no attempt to edit out names dates and places, and if the intention was to simply 'expose' the actions of the US government then that would have been a minimum requirement for fairness and the safety of individuals. If all your personal data was stolen and put on the internet you would be very unhappy and governments are no different. You can moralise all you like about what this that or the other government does and whether or not it should be exposed, what Assange did was completely and totally wrong in its execution if not completely. Further there was no foreseeable outcome from this stupid act other than him end up being charged by the US authorities. So he has no right and never did to claim to be a victim. Serves him right.😮

“Thank God Almighty …” Say WHAT??? Are you thanking “god” for allowing Julian to spend 13 years being punished for actually being a freedom-defender? Given “his” supposed “almighty-ness” - “he” should be CONDEMNED. PERIOD. I agree with your sentiment / hope that the future be especially good for Assange and his family; BUT “god-forbid” it be “blessed” by such a NON-EXISTENT merciless god. Weren’t Assange’s last 13 years “blessed by YOUR ‘all-loving’ god” enough?!

He’s sadly one of only a handful of true heros we have today. Heros are more rare than ever now as society becomes more and more compliant and impressionable, more naive and ignorant. Thank you Assange! Glad you’re free. Sorry you had to even plea guilty for these demons to let you go, but we’re all just glad you’re back with family. And we’ll be waiting to see who our future heros will be.
