I also recommend people not to buy new cars. The value depreciates so much when you leave the lot. Also foreign cars are also high maintenance. Better to buy used and American cars.

I wear bras on 2 occasions- weddings & funerals. Bras out here low key one of the biggest causes of breast cancer. Your breasts are designed to move, jiggle & bounce! Lack of movement aka lack of exercise causes disease in the tissues. And don’t get me started on boobs needing to be hoisted up to your neck. The things we do to our bodies for men & society. Just wear a tight strappy cami. If they hang, they hang 🤷🏽‍♀️

I stopped buying cell phone insurance. They charged me $10 a month and then when my phone got water damaged they told me to pay a $120-$150 deposit/down payment and then they’ll send me a new phone. I had the phone for a little less than two years too. So I paid $230 plus $150. So I paid almost $400 to replace my phone. And I didn’t even pay that for my phone

I’m trying not to buy portable salads anymore. Although convenient, they have a high sodium content (41% of my daily recommended value). And for 3.99 per salad it’s really just lettuce and a serving of chicken/cheese loaded with preservatives and salt. I figure a 3.99 bag of lettuce with some of my own ingredients that I can control will be cheaper in the long run and reduce my plastic usage.

@TennisBarbie119

Danielle LaShawn yes, that’s what I’ll replace it with. Those bags cost about $4 and can probably supply 5+ salads. It just takes a bit of extra labor to prepare the other ingredients. I’m thinking a handful of pasta, a few tomatoes, Parmesan, and salt/pepper should suffice though.
@DDixon-kk1kf

Those things are packed with salt and if it comes with a dressing, that’s the killer. You’re better off eating a cheeseburger and fries everyday. A Wendy’s salad has 40grams of fat. That’s a smart move.

So glad for this. BLK ppl especially have been socialized to be hyper-consumers. We end up wasting our money on the hype of looking the part of having it. And even if we have it to waste, it’s still wasting money, energy, and creates undue anxiety. It’s 2020 we need to move on from that mentality and start evaluating where we put our coins any why. I’ve come to the conclusion myself for a few yrs now that I have everything I need in my house already. #minimalistlife

Yup! The consumer dollars we wield is crazy. We just don't unify under a message of economic strength and commit to it and tptb know it. I saw a young high school athlete commit to an HBCU and was so proud. In fact his statement to all the non-HBCU schools who were hoping he would come over was' he had 10 toes behind' his decision. I saw the ESPN mini-series on football and one episode dealt entirely with black athletes and how racist white schools were and then they found out how beautiful and athletic we were. They began to systematically poach black talent which was a tent pole for many HBCU's and that led to HBCU's not being able to compete with D-1 schools with large programs. With all of what we are living through now I am glad to see there is a faint whisper that as a collective we need to reverse that tide. It is all about economics and we must recognize our buying power and make good choices that last generations. I agree 1,000% with her list.

I'm grateful that I got gap insurance. Most car insurances will not cover the entire amount that you are paying if you are paying a car loan. I got loan for a new car 6 months later it was totaled. My insurance only covered what it was worth which still left me with 10000 to pay the loan company. Gap insurance came in and payed the rest. But to each its own. But I do agree extended warranties like windshield coverage and tire coverage is a total rip off.

How is Christmas, a day that was definitely intended to -commemorate- Jesus's birth, a "pagan" holiday, when pagans don't even acknowledge Jesus or the God that created him...🤔? Let's not spread falsehoods on the internet, when credible sources are available on this same internet.

We do Christmas but it’s mostly decorations. I love decorating on the holidays, fall and winter ones that is. We do the tree, the lights, I got some little towns and villages. We make DIY ornaments and DIY other things to go around the house. The kids love it. We’re making memories. I still do presents but it’s mostly things we made each other. I still buy gifts like things I know the kids will use. They usually get other gifts from family members.

Dishes - It's just me & my son. And he's about to go to grad school. We have 2 plates, 2 glasses, some bowls and thats it. 4. Flatware including things like multiple spatulas, can openers etc. Only one of each. 5. Soda pop I stopped drinking that years ago. 6. I have the same stance on Christmas since 2004. 7. Same stance on bras. I'm sure there's some other stuff, but that's enough for now! 😁 Thanks for sharing Kim!! 🥰

I didn’t buy rental car insurance and I’m glad I didn’t. Had an accident that was $4000 in damage, I only had to pay my $500 deductible which was reimbursed immediately from State Farm and after the case closed Enterprise also reimbursed me. So no to rental car insurance.
