I’m trying not to buy portable salads anymore. Although convenient, they have a high sodium content (41% of my daily recommended value). And for 3.99 per salad it’s really just lettuce and a serving of chicken/cheese loaded with preservatives and salt. I figure a 3.99 bag of lettuce with some of my own ingredients that I can control will be cheaper in the long run and reduce my plastic usage.

Danielle LaShawn yes, that’s what I’ll replace it with. Those bags cost about $4 and can probably supply 5+ salads. It just takes a bit of extra labor to prepare the other ingredients. I’m thinking a handful of pasta, a few tomatoes, Parmesan, and salt/pepper should suffice though.

And even if we have it to waste, it’s still wasting money, energy, and creates undue anxiety. It’s 2020 we need to move on from that mentality and start evaluating where we put our coins any why. Yup! The consumer dollars we wield is crazy. We just don't unify under a message of economic strength and commit to it and tptb know it. I saw a young high school athlete commit to an HBCU and was so proud. In fact his statement to all the non-HBCU schools who were hoping he would come over was' he had 10 toes behind' his decision. I saw the ESPN mini-series on football and one episode dealt entirely with black athletes and how racist white schools were and then they found out how beautiful and athletic we were. They began to systematically poach black talent which was a tent pole for many HBCU's and that led to HBCU's not being able to compete with D-1 schools with large programs. With all of what we are living through now I am glad to see there is a faint whisper that as a collective we need to reverse that tide. It is all about economics and we must recognize our buying power and make good choices that last generations. I agree 1,000% with her list.

I'm grateful that I got gap insurance. Most car insurances will not cover the entire amount that you are paying if you are paying a car loan. I got loan for a new car 6 months later it was totaled. My insurance only covered what it was worth which still left me with 10000 to pay the loan company. Gap insurance came in and payed the rest. But to each its own. But I do agree extended warranties like windshield coverage and tire coverage is a total rip off.

The only thing about using your own insurance for a car rental is if anything happens, in terms of extensive damage to the rental, and you’re at fault, the cost for your insurance can increase.
@toyaappiah4744 жыл бұрын
Not only that but your personal insurance does not pay for the time the rental car is out of service for repairs. You will be responsible for the daily rate while it's being repaired.
@solucky56184 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly why I use my credit card. Messed up a car Didn’t have to pay a dime out of pocket. The card I used to reserve it covered everything for me. Nothing happened with my personal insurance either.

Diaper disposable bags and doggie bags. I save my grocery bags for that. (I used to reuse my cloth shopping bags but I opted out of that with COVID so now I repurposed the plastic bags.) I didn’t buy rental car insurance and I’m glad I didn’t. Had an accident that was $4000 in damage, I only had to pay my $500 deductible which was reimbursed immediately from State Farm and after the case closed Enterprise also reimbursed me. So no to rental car insurance.
