SUMMARY:
- Toilets in Japan, like their gadgets, are technologically advanced and user-friendly. Even the simpler ones still have built-in sinks on the tank and heated seats.
- The Japanese love everything that’s cute (or “kawaii” as they call it), like cats and anime characters with their large, adorable eyes. As for their pooches, the latest craze in Japan is to groom their dogs into perfectly trimmed cubes.
- High speed trains in Japan are designed like, well, a bullet, hence the name! These things can go up to 198 miles per hour and are known for their punctuality, comfort, safety, and efficiency.
- In Japan, they consider food preparation an art. A classic example is the glass display that showcases a restaurant’s dishes. In Japan, when you order food, it’s the same as what’s advertised!
- Most of us like our fries hot, crisp, and…black?! Nope, these charcoal-black fries aren’t burnt; they’re special fries made from a spicy black potato that you can buy at a café & bar in Kyoto.
- Inclusive Japanese brewers stamp the word “beer” in Braille on top of their cans, and they do it entirely out of sheer concern!
- Tattooing is a form of art in its own right, but Japan gave it an exciting twist. Known as “blacklight tattoos” or “UV tattoos,” this awesome ink uses a UV reactive fluoresce dye and comes to life when under UV light.
- “Mujin hanbai” or “unmanned stores” are a common site at roadsides in Japan. They’re a nice way for farmers to get rid of extra stock yet still make a nice coin for it.
- Japan is almost the same size as California, so they have to utilize the limited space they have. One of their solutions is intelligent parking systems started in 1965 by the Japan Parking System Manufacturers Association.
- If you wanna go to the beach but hate getting sunburned, then The Seagaia Ocean Dome is your answer for an unforgettable summer getaway. This is one of the world’s largest indoor waterparks and artificial beaches.
- “Smart bra” “knows” what its wearer feels and opens only when a woman is with someone she’s really into.

Great idea for a video. It's a shame that it was not pulled off well. Many of the items referenced in the video were not shown in the video. How hard would it be to just do a google image search on the subject. Very disappointing to see a simplistic cartoon to represent some technological marvel.

l lived in Japan for 12 years. In many prefectures. Later I moved to europe and now live in Australia. What I have observed often is, people visit Japan for two weeks and write comments on their limited experience and lack of understanding of the way of life there. Japan is a unique country and I invite people to visit and explore by yourselves. I guarantee, it is worth the effort.

I remember playing Nintendo at my cousin’s house in Japan before it came out in America as well as buying a portable disc player before they were sold here. They definitely come out with some things before us. I also thought it was funny that my grandma’s house in Oshima Island Japan is over 100 years old, yet the toilets were heated with remote controls and I could type in the what temperature I wanted my shower water to be. I miss Japan and my family!

The reason Japan is so advanced is because of the upbringing of their people. They are all polite, conserved and hard-working. They are not distracted by nonsense social movements, and as the result of a refugee-free country, they have very low crime rates. I think Japan will continue to thrive as long as they focus on what's important

Seriously? I think you have a very limited view of Japan. It has its good points, but it is not the futuristic utopia we're led to believe. In fact, many towns and cities in Japan have a serious problem with mental health, gender equality and living conditions, and 70s technology still inhabits many offices and workplaces. Culturally they are very conservative and resistant to progress, and are very insular and hostile to other nations and cultures. Once the novelty wears off, it is a very materialistic and superficial world that is quite unfriendly and anonymous.

They are not the high tech capital - that's laughable. They still use fax machines, have generally poor-quality housing stock, and antiquated building safety features in many cases. They also have not produced a viable commercial aircraft since the 1970s, and are not a leader in IT innovation generally.

@@booger1027 Well, that's why people invent things. Mostly for comfort. Do we need telephones, the internet, lightbulbs, and the like. Nope. But it makes our life easier and lets us be "lazier", or more comfortable. Not trying to start an argument, just saying
@booger1027
@booger1027 5 жыл бұрын
@@fieryraidenx4189 I agree with this as well. My issue is what & how we've chosen to let technology impact our lives. If it is a tool that's awesome but when things start to basically rule our every move & we become dependent on it in multiple ways (unhealthy mostly but even a combination of healthy & unhealthy) then it is a problem. A problem that can easily turn into an epidemic, people start to think they know everything because they have Google, Siri, or Alexa to ask anything & now they think that they can do anything. Which they might be able to do so but lots of people (at least I've noticed) think that they're as good or better than a professional at whatever they searched. Or that they don't need to socialize with anyone other than via Social Networking (when most people that are their Friends they've never actually met).

Japan has been my dream country since childhood. When I was a kid I loved Japan because it's where ryu from street fighter 2 was from. Then I started to love tech and I found out Japan has the best tech. I know alot about Japan like I've been there. I can even speak and understand Japanese a little. Most tunes when watching Anime I don't even look at the subtitles. I love Japan!

A little tips for ppl who go to Japan I only have experience for winter 1) You have to be prepared as during peak hours and take a subway, u will be squashed into pancakes.. 2) you will have to walk alot and yea lazy ppl don't fit there 3) bring a plastic bag to keep your rubbish you won't find much bin there 4) you will be shoooooked by their food 5) Take a flight early in morning (6-7 a.m.) all the traveling stuff takes time so I took a flight at six and when I reach my hotel it was 6 at night and I am superrrr tired 6) Scared of cold? When u bath run the hot water for a few min make the bathroom like sauna then u can comfortably take a shower 7) Rooms are very small so won't fit claustrophobic ppl Ex: You go in on your right small closet In front of u is a table... in front of closet is a bed and lastly in front of the table is a sink and next to it is a mini bathroom ... as I went as a family, we bought two rooms connected to each other so we can communicate easily And no need to thank me... everyone deserve some knowledge in Japan I went to Disneyland and sea it's super fun!!! (I went to Tokyo and Osaka btw)

Being in Japan almost quarterly, i would say its a great country to visit. To stay for a long while or permanently though, as in most of the other countries, it depends on a particular province or island, say in the Philippines or a particular state, say in the U.S...i think im lucky to be have been to both their cities and provinces ..cities where life is so fast paced, busy, complex while i find it easier for me, a foreigner to adjust in their a little remote or shall i say 'provincial' area like in Tagawa , Fukuoka. There u would still experience some of the technological facts in this video but i must say being in their smaller communities gets u more immersed to their culture and makes u understand them more as a nation or race. P.s. what i really find interesting in Japan is there is always sumthing for everything, a gadget for every purpose, big or small like a small pocket mirror i saw in a novelty shop...about 1x 1 in..that comes with a toothpick😁

Japan's first bullet train was in 1964, and we still don't have them in America. Too much money spent on the military, sports, government, etc. instead of making life easier for everyday people.
@joegim7680

Different culture. America is a car country with a vast network of roads & highways and a different mindset. Cars are very affordable in the US so trains have limited appeal. Plus air travel in the States is also relatively affordable so why take a slower train. Japan is only as big as California and more crowded and that's why trains make a lot of sense there.

@@victoriamatthews5108 I agree but my point is the USA is not Japan and that's why a high speed train in the US won't be economically feasible. It lacks the flexibility of an automobile which we Americans love. For example in the US many Yanks like to tow their boats, mobile homes, trailer, campers. etc. Can't do that with a train. Plus automobile allows you to make spur of the moment route changes & detours which can make for a more exciting trip.
@balufire
@balufire 5 жыл бұрын
@@victoriamatthews5108 the problem is not related to spending. The problem is a issue of scale. Distances between major cities is far higher in the US than most anywhere in the world. A high-speed rail infrastructure would need to either be built from scratch or incrementally replace existing lines, they are not intercompatable. A plane or car might be more dangerous than a train, but you don't need to completely replace a road or airstrip anytime a new type of car or plane comes out. However with trains this is sometimes necessary.
@victoriamatthews5108
@victoriamatthews5108 5 жыл бұрын
@@balufire Modes of transportation change through the decades, and it’s time for an update. It would cost about a billion dollars a mile for the hyperloop train tunnel from DC to New York. Sure, it would be expensive, but it would save lives and save time. The car industry would greatly plummet. According to Google, in 2015, the global automotive manufacturing industry was forecasted to have a value of $1,653.7 billion, an increase of 39.6% since 2010.
