I lived in Okinawa for six years because my mom was in the Marines. We tried to be as immersed in the culture as possible and lived mostly off base. I loved it! Also that little whale shark character at the aquarium has not changed in 20 years 😂

Great Video! Just booked flights to Okinawa last week for october this year. Been two times to Japan (Honshu) before and wanted to visit Okinawa at least once. It's good to see some recommendations and your experiences with the Aquarium. We're not the biggest Zoo/Aquarium Fans, so we'll probably skip it. I'm currently watching a lot Videos about Okinawa and it's Places to find the right Hotel for our stay :) Was also thinking about getting a rental car, but am not sure yet. Also, i'm feeling exactly the same way as you, about what you said regarding tourist spots and just strolling around unfamiliar places and cities (18:37). I just loved it to walk around Kobe, Tokyo,... to pick up the foreign flair. So thanks for the video! And sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue :)

Thanks so much @ronsen7363! If you haven't been to Okinawa yet, you should definitely check it out! Also if you're not an aquarium fan, it's definitely okay to skip the aquarium in Okinawa. It would also be really convenient to have a rental car there if possible to see more of the island. Hope you can make it to Okinawa soon! Also your English is great by the way! I understood everything you typed no problem! :)
