Interestingly, A game from similiar time frame, Age of Empires 2, receives new updates every so often and got 2 new expansions, including the infamous Roberto Barbosa African Kingdoms and has a thriving community. It's not impossible to revitalize Diablo 2 since new content would be dirt-cheap to make and the game still has an active fan-base. Imagine a Diablo 2 Remaster, if you will, with new content, updated graphics, revitalized multiplayer and no microtransactions, lootboxes, DLC's, preorder bonuses, thus greatly improving Blizzard's image in the eyes of the public.

After playing Diablo II pretty much since it was originally launched, I have just recently noticed that at the end of the river of flame / entry to Diablo's sanctuary the statues would turn their heads to always face the character..! I know.. amazing huh? 😛

Uchiha Madara PlugY doesn't change the game in itself, it just allows experiencing online content in singleplayer mode and it allows you to collect your items and share them between your characters. In my opinion it's the perfection of Diablo II but i understand if you want to play the game in its original state

"an evil force" is not the actual name of the cathedral windows, it just means that the actual name couldn't be found by the game (like missingno). I also think that the skeletons in act4 don't attack, but there is something similar in mephisto's room with critters that actually do attack (but I'm not sure I remember this one right).

Here is something I don't think you know. I got the "Evil Force" glass to spawn in a game with a druid and noticed that while I was around the glass the spirit which took damage during a fight would not heal up. I stayed a while to make sure of this effect and sure enough that glass seems to prevent summons from being able to heal up.

Prior to my releasing the details to Blizzard, you could open your stash in Act 1 and while still in the stash clicking just off screen would allow you to leave town and wander the map. It was possible to exploit this to dupe items.

Soj’s were currency during LOD as well. I was like 13 but I remember them going for almost nothing then being the most wanted item over night. I think the rust storm it was called got rid of a bunch of them so the value went up. That was all during lod I never played before lod

Nice. Thanks for video. Personally I would add there monster modificator "Thief", that was really interesting, but was removed because of bug. This modificator gave a monster chance to make player drop random potion from the belt on monster hit, but when this chance worked during barbs whirlwind (belt is unavailable) - the game would crash. It's a pity they deleted it instead of fixing.

somethings you didn't know. on uswest you could get hex charms. 90 STR, 90 sex, 90 vit. small charms. also came in an energy version. They were the trade value over sojs in 1.09. also had white gloves and boots. That gave 90 all stats 90 ias, 90 fhr, and run walk. on useast. They had occyrings. Which was an Oculus orb mixed with an soj ring. this was my favorite. also had ith blades and zephry bows. look them up for more info.

D2 pro here in the old days. There was items that were Ethereal and if you socketed a zod then removed it they would continue to be Eth and you could further socket say ist to give MF. The most powerful item I had in this case was the Heavens Light Zod buged. I had some items in d2 most players will never even know about. D2jsp allowed top players to trade and earn Forum gold to then buy and sell. I had a few Insane items that were perm legit and unfortunately I lost all my accounts when my PC broke and had no way to stop the inactive account deletion. I lost LLD stuff that was one of a kind and would be Impossible to find today.

This isn't anything unknown to hardcore D2 players. But WF was definitely LOD item. Silks used to be the highest unique in the game until then. Got to love rolling with rares after beating normal. Doesn't matter how many Diablos are made, D2 still remains my all time fave.

After playing diablo 2 when I was 9-10 years old, and growing up to becoming an engineer at 27. Now I get it. You had plans, but the "Schedule" you had to deter to shortcutted those plans. Put simply, the higher ups that don't know dick about the game and just want it to be sold rush all the devs/programmers to get it out when really all they wanna do is make the game perfect for the consumer. (which d2 was to me, d3 was NOT)

All good except 14 is a wrong, Windforce didnt exist in vanilla d2. Unique items in vanilla d2 only went up to the first tier. Uniques such as windforce were added with LOD So trading 40 SoJ for an item that didnt exist, didnt happen.

@@MrFereshteyeh did some googling, it applies to what i originally wrote 4 years ago - Sometimes when you drink a red or blue potion you will get double the listed points from it, over the normal 5.12 seconds time. This is a game feature that’s not well known, but quite beneficial. This is determined by the following process[1]: Pick a random integer, A, between 0 and your (Vitality/Energy - 1) (inclusive). Pick a random integer, B, between 0 and 99 (inclusive). If A is larger than B, congratulations! You gain double health/mana. The chance to receive double healing is: If Vit is odd: % chance = (Vit - 1) ^ 2 / (Vit * 4) If Vit is even: % chance = (Vit - 2) / 4 This can be approximated to (Vit/4 = % double heal). To figure your odds for Mana Potions, just substitute your Energy for Vitality in the equation, they are exactly the same in other respects. Simplified, this is .25% chance per stat point, or 1% per 4 stat points, or 5% per 20 stat points. This holds true up to 200 points in Energy or Vitality. Above 200 your % chance is affected by diminishing returns, to the tune of this formula: % chance = 100 - (10100 / Vit) Check the stats in the table below for a few sample values.

During diablo2 development they had claimed the game would be on 4 discs and they had some hidden things they thought the public would be excited about. the turn around time from diablo2 to lord of destruction was insanely fast. I think they were going to surprise fans with the expansion act which would have filled the games 4th disc but then decided they could get the game out with act 1-4 as it was and give them more time to polish act5 which was going to just be a bonus.
