Wait, is Europe still paying import taxes on Japanese produce? I thought you guys got the same trade deal the UK got with Japan (as in, the trade deal was an EU-Japan deal, and just got copy-pasted after Brexit). I've not had to pay any import dues for figures from Japan recently (royal mail no longer holds my JP stuff hostage, I still have to pay a handling fee for anything from the US though)

Thank you. I have always asserted that FREEing bunnies are _grotesquely_ overpriced, and that their level of detail is equivalent to a 3000 yen figure (only scaled up). It is good to see a direct comparison. It has never made sense to me that 1/4 scale figures have poorer sculpts than many 1/7th or even 1/10th scale figures, when there is a real opportunity to utilize that larger scale for a superior level of detail. The only FREEing figure which I don't consider a let-down is X10: that figure should be the benchmark that they aim for. Unfortunately, people continue to throw money at them in droves for their lazy standards, so they have no incentive whatsoever to improve.

Great comparisons! I own the 2nd versions of the Freeing Rem and Ram bunnies and absolutely love them. I can agree the bicute bunnies offer great value, but for me it's the shelf presence of a quarter scale that I love.

I'm a HUGE Rem fan, and have been buying a lot of her figures lately, I got 2 of the 3 Bicute Bunny ones of her somewhat recently, and they're two of my favorites in my collection. They definitely rival the ones I've spent in the $100 range on. I am on board with wanting to see some of them for other characters tho! I would love to be able to get some more affordable bunny girl figures for other characters into my collection. Keep up the great work!

I love prize figures! The QC issues you can get have never bothered me, since 99% of the time, the figure is gonna be on a shelf at least a few feet away, I'm rarely gonna be close enough to see little scuffs and paint marks

The BiCute bunnies range really has improved over time! I waited to get the bare leg ones and got Rem for 15k and Ram for 14k so I don't think I'd ever preorder a bare leg version at this point... Great coverage of both sides of the market though!

I really love and enjoy your bunny girl reviews. I got a BiCute Rem figure from Amazon for $35 USD. Her head was not attached, but was easy to put in place and then placed her on the stand. She is just over 11 inches high. I have her sister Ram on my wishlist who sells for $115 USD and is also the same size. The quality on Rem is great.

There is definitely a significant diminishing return when going for high end figures. However that's only considering the figures and price thereof themselves. For starters, there is shipping. And these days.... for cheaper figures that could be over the price of the figure itself. While the bigger/better figures do cost more to ship, it's still a fraction of the cost of the figure. Then, there is the actual problem for serious collectors. Space. This will vary for different people, but I am running out of space. I had to buy quite a lot of shelving, which luckily doesn't cost that much, but my room is getting full. The cost of buying a bigger house, if it ever comes down to that, would be HUGE. The space that I've allocated to my figures and their boxes, in terms of square footage and cost thereof, is over twice that of the figures, and that's with basically all premium figures (only 10% of my collection is less than $100). Granted, I live in a relatively expensive place, but still... (And it's not like you can stuff your house full of stuff. In terms of actual usable space, they are taking up a bigger share than their actual foot print, so probably 5x cost in space than the figures themselves) This is why generally speaking, I'd say people should start with cheap but relatively well made figures. But once you get past ten or so, you should probably primarily focus on quality. Because eventually, you would enjoy 50 quality figures more than say 200-300 cheaper figures.

Great video! I have yet to discover a 1/4 bunny that I like enough to get for my collection. I often find their faces look off, and kind of lifeless. I find this to be especially the case with Rem and Ram here. Their faces just look so plain and hollow. The Bicute bunnies however are really cute, they look so happy and have personality! Also, I do prefer Ram over Rem ;; I would love for her to get more figures.

I got 2 bunny girls recently who needed glueing after unboxing. One would not stay on the stand, so I took super glue and glued her feet to the stand and that did the trick. The other one, Scarlet, one of my favorites, needed her ear glued, and super glue did the trick. Very happy with both figures.

Freeing has to step up their game, they're increasing prices, while their output is pretty ... basic.. i mean yeah the figures are big... but that's it.... most of the time the poses are not original, often the figures look dead und not dynamic at all....them increasing prices is ... so weird to me... i guess we're at fault for still buying the bunnies but then again freeing could really work on their figures so the prices are justified

With the price of FREEing bunnies continuing to go up I may have to stop collecting them entirely. I love all of mine dearly and would never get rid of them willingly, but at a certain point it no longer becomes worth it for what you get. They can’t expect me to pay $350/$400 on retail price, an additional $50/$100 in shipping, and about a $40 customs fee. At that point it’s more of a burden than anything (to me, at least). I currently have nine FREEing bunnies (including seven owned and two pre-ordered) in my collection. At the moment I have my eye on the Shinon and Mito bunny. Unless they come out with a character I absolutely adore I doubt I’ll hit the pre-order button. I always only got my all-time favourite characters, but now I’ll really have to limit and budget.

Even though there are some issues with these figures, I just watched a review of the same ones but with stockings and there were biggest issues with those. In particular Ram's hair was a bit translucent and Rem's was not. I am curious how come you did not use both arm replacements to have both their hands holding each others?

For the prize figure range it goes up a LOT higher especially with increased demand / lower supply around the pandemic, it's not at all uncommon for even prize figures to push 15,000 yen (one prize figure in 2020 cost me £60 and another one £75 in 2021) which seems super high compared to previous years, and you can't really shop around any more bc sometimes only one or two western sites will have them available and there are hardly any resellers (and even then those get even more expensive).

You can kind of understand why 1/4th cost more. But these days I feel like so many 1/7 still cost 27k+ yen, and it makes no sense. Sure they are elaborate and nice, but should they really cost that much at 1/7 scale?

The 1/7 scales for a similar price to a 1/4 bunny is usually way more detailed. The Rem vs. Roswaal, for example, is around the same price as her bunny fig, but the quality and amount of detail is way better on the 1/7. Honestly, I think the 1/7 scales are way better bang for your buck if you're spending that much anyway.

My biggest issue by far with Rem & Ram figure is so few match. I have seen a great deal of awesome Rem figures, but most of the time no damn Ram figures to match. My OCD will not let me get away with that. lol So to have figures that not only match, but piece together in some way is a big win. Pretty much all figures are over priced though. lol
