I love that you describe colors using nature, like pistachios, lime, raspberry instead of green or pink.

It looks so nice now, especially with all the plants - you walk in the door and the cottage gives you a big, warm hug. Love the color palate, it's actually very similar to our house which is a light green with the darker, but kind of terra cotta color wrap-around wooden lanai. Still not tired of that combination.

Beautiful, peaceful and cozy cottage. The greens, terracottas and neutrals blend beautifully. Btw, we got rid of our TV 35 years ago when my children were young. It was a great decision. They loved books and were very creative and active. I enjoy the imput from your male friend. Also, I was pleased to see that you do not have a white couch! I don’t quite get that impracticle trend. 😊

Given what was there, I would never have dreamed that your process would be so hugely detailed, innovative, and ambitious. I'm sure some of the choices were pricey, but every element or technique can be adjusted according to scale or budget elsewhere. A labour of love, talent, and sweat: it's a work of art; beautiful. Well done.

For posterity, the word for "patina'd" is "patinated." Not trying to be a smart-a**, genuinely trying to be helpful in case you were curious😅I'm a metal-worker so my professor drilled the vocab into me. Thanks for the video!

Absolutely fascinating. When I stared to spell the word, I was like, "Is that right?" Didn't bother looking it up. So thank you for making the correction here.

The Meadow House is absolutely beautiful! Well done!!! I knew it was going to be special when you guys did the walls, but I had no idea how lovely a backdrop it would be. You have made awesome choices for the interior design! I don't know how you don't fight over living in the house 24-7. 🙂 Again, well done!

Beautiful and calming. Can this wall cover you use in the bathroom be washed? You have no tiles and looking at it I think that’s an environment I would love to live in

This is just like my mother in laws country house in the Nevers region of France, As soon as you walk in it's home. No one ever wants to leave. All natural colours and organic products/ It has a special planty/herb smell as you walk in that makes one feel calm. Trying to do the same at mine, here in Melbourne.

very nice cozy space! I would suggest to put an empty frame around the electrical box where it can still be accessible and maybe subtly paint on it , maybe little flowers or something

What brand/color is the green paint in the kitchen?
@SeekingBeautifulDesign
@SeekingBeautifulDesign 9 ай бұрын
There is very often a tension between form and function in design. You talked and showed an earthy, planty, antiquey, warm, rounded (vs angled) design aesthetic. But, you have a minisplit above the bed that needs to move air and doesn't have the same aesthetic cues. How do you resolve this age old tension? I also like that you used objects that had a personal meaning...another reason why hotels feel so transient. But, how do you bring that personal meaning to a space that is often a guest house?

Love this! But with me 2/3 at least of the plants would be fake, so I'd be ready in 5 minutes with watering the few life plants in between. Those few life plants give the impression everything is alive. And of course I only choose high end fake ones, so it's not noticed. Love the green, the brass and gold, love the earthy tones, love the clay white. Love that bouquet on the kitchen table! With so much of the green paint, I see this as a holiday house. With less green it could be my permanent house. I'd keep that kitchen and dining room green, but have the light wicker tone in the bedroom.

Maybe you will discover something else, to put over the electric box, in the bedroom. Feng Shui doesn't recommend mirrors, for the bedroom. We have an electric box, which stands out, from the wall, in a home office to be. The search is on. Your cozy home is wonderful.

Winter nights are long and cold, how about dedicating a small section to hand crafted textile art?
@FlockFingerLakes
@FlockFingerLakes 9 ай бұрын
Wish we had more room on the walls for textile art, but in the meantime, all the woolen pillows are handwoven, and the linens in the bathroom are handwoven in Ethiopia; and the linens in the kitchen are woven in Lithuania, for example; and we had a local artisan do the sewing of the seatings in the kitchen. I also have a beautiful mat from the Yawanawá indigenous group that my previous Brooklyn roomie left behind that I think we can place over the mini-split, but that's still in Brooklyn and we'll have to wait whether that will work or not.
