Your watching the sunrise with the quiet and sitting with your coffee and the dogs is a meditative practice for you. That's good though it is very helpful to the mind and your well-being for the day. On my go to work days I use a light therapy lamp as I'm up and usually at work just before the sun comes up but when I'm at work I do try to take a few moments to watch the sunrise before I start my workday. it's very important to learn to savour things.. slowly sipping coffee or tea and just appreciating it for all the flavour and soothingness it brings is also good for you. Many of us tend to rush through it just to "wake up"

I lost my youngest son to suicide two years ago . He was my pooh-bear; 39 years old, with a big 'ol belly and the best sense of humor , always making me laugh . Now those days are gone . But I ALWAYS talk to him . If not in the car going on a shopping trip ( which he loved joining me to do, just to do something embarrassing at MY expense ! Lol !)..... or helping me prepare a holiday buffet , or sit in the dark watching scary movies , we ALWAYS enjoyed eachothers company. So, I talk to him and I'll turn on the radio in my car so he can sing with me .... he couldn't carry a freaking tune ! Lol ! , but how I MISS his voice ! Another thing I TRY to do is CREATE. Whether it's something to sew , or embroider or learn new knitting patterns , or learning a new recipe ; some, from watching you since starting my own journey with intermittent fasting ! 😊

Hi Renee, I really enjoyed your video. It was so positive. I'm 65 and a retired nurse. Every morning when I get out of bed I put my feet on the ground and thank God for my breath, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 eyes, and I ask him to guide me in everything I do for the day. I get distracted sometimes and need to come back and pray to do God's will throughout the day. Then I drink my coffee.I go outside in my backyard and sit quietly with my eyes closed, I listen and count how many noises I can hear. Usually it's about five things (birds singing, my wind chimes, the sound of a car, a lawnmower, a dog barking, the leaves rustling in the wind). My life changing tip since retiring, is to eat the frog first thing in the morning. The idea is that you identify one challenging task (the frog) and complete the task first thing in the morning (eating it). There's a book about it!

We are both retired so we have the luxury of more time. I remember all too well our very hectic lives when we both worked and the stress. Now, as much as possible, I take Sundays off from work- my day of rest. We go to church, I'll send birthday or anniversary cards etc cards, facetime with family or friends, catch up with a neighbor who's husband has cancer, spend some time reading, visit with friends in the hospital or AL. It really makes me thankful for my relatively good health and all the blessings God has given me.

The first thing that I do is spend time with God. First I love to pray, then read a scripture out of the Bible, eat breakfast, or at least I try to, them I take my bath and get my day started. I believe that their are a lot of things that we all can do better with or change all together. All in all, I am thankful, grateful and blessed to be alive and well. Living life with my husband, 3 children, family and friends. God is good!🙏🏼❤️💯🙏🏼❤️💯

I’m up at 5 am and headed to work before 6 am. But I love doing my skincare in the mornings and evenings. Just one little thing for me since I’m a single Mom and watching over elderly parents and I sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I call my parents multiple times a day to ask if they need anything. Family makes me happy. A full pantry makes me happy. Thrift store shopping too. My job makes me happy most days. My 30 minute drive to work in the mornings is my quiet alone time and I enjoy it. Declaring an off day where I lay on the couch and watch a movie and intentionally do nothing makes me happy. Seeing a rainbow. Rainy days. My backyard birds and animals at the feeders is one of my favorite things. Being spontaneous. So much! 😊

I start my day by reading The Bible for at least 30 minutes every day. Since I'm retired, I also try to listen/watch a Christian broadcast at some point usually while I'm fixing dinner. Those times really center me and remind me of all I have to be grateful for in life. I'm also an early riser and while my husband sleeps and after I've done my reading, I do my stretching and some balance exercises. As we age, balance is a very important component to good health and not falling.

Good morning Renee, what a lovely vlog. As someone who works in a hospital with all it's stresses, heartbreak and small miracles along the way, I simply have gratitude the moment I wake up, I give thanks for just being able to do the basics, go to the bathroom normally, live with little to no pain, I have another chance to laugh, to feed my fur babies and give them comfort, care and all my love, to have another chance to talk to my elderly parents who live 3000 miles away, just to have another chance to see my beautiful sunrise from my 14th floor view on my off days and like you with a cup a coffee with one fur love on each side, I just stare out and marvel at the beauty and miracle of life. What a blessing❤ 😻

I love this! I grew up with diabetic parents so we always ate dinner at five. As a teen I wanted to break from that but my dad sat me down and explained how important it is to have stability (something to rely on) every day in your life. So when you're having that bad day you know dinner is at five and you can sort of rest in that fact. I too enjoy my quiet mornings and the eye focus thing...that's actually an exercise for your eyes! I had an issue with one of my eyes as a child and had to do a a series of exercises to build up the muscles in the one eye. Focusing near and far is that exercise! I still do that to this day...focusing near and really far all throughout the day. I also love a to-do list and I try to pray several times a day for myself, my loved ones, and just about anything that comes to mind. Knowing I am partaking in something that is far bigger than myself is very gratifying and makes me feel I am of worth...that my life has purpose. I love nature and it's funny...my husband and I have lunch out together every day and while he watches all the man-made things (cars, trucks traffic, etc...) that fall under his eye, I watch nature...birds, flowers, trees, the changing leaves. I love it all and yes...gotta breath that fresh air and feel that sun on your skin. Most mornings I sit out back while my dog Uno does his thing...Lol! I enjoy watching the bird feeders and the squirrels and chipmunks. Lately I've revisited an old habit of mine...no TV (news etc...) in the morning. I am more at peace without the TV. There's just garbage on anymore and I'm just better without it. I also love to have classical music playing softly in the background throughout the day. Oh there are so many other things I try to do daily and I think it's a great habit to start. God bless!

Maggie…Love what your Dad said. I will take to heart and begin implementing. Thanks for sharing. Renee…I was waiting for the happy light. 💡 Remains on top of my Bucket List. Have started 100 envelope savings challenge. I love it! Has brought me joy! Never taught to save and retirement shows it. Never really had much in adult life. Single Mom and took every penny to survive. Have to admit envelope challenge is a bit slower for me…a senior, permanently disabled (t-boned by semi while sitting still at stoplight) on SSI , not SSDI. Anyway it and Nickel Challenge are fun and deliver joy. I do many similar items on your list Renee that spark joy. Starting with Gratitude first thing when I rise. Thanks for sharing. Was a wonderful reminder of the simple, free people/things matter most. My #1 happiest place that sparks the most joy is paying it forward. No better feeling than reaching out a hand to lift someone up/or helping a stray animal. Lastly you answered why I rarely see the two guys that started your channel and that I love seeing and miss more than you will ever know. The boys are on Instagram which I don’t do. For me triggering. I have been on Carnivore month and best ever way of eating for me. FINALLY way of eating that is healing my whole body inside out. Cannot explain all it has healed inside my body in just a month. I do IF, OMAD and actually lost 50#s on LC/Keto (fell off over holiday and gained all back even though I continued OMAD/IF). Nothing has healed me like Carnivore. Never been happier with lifestyle change. Have a stellar weekend Maggie, Rene, Randy and the boys.

Not to compare you and Randy to otters but fun fact that sea otters hold hands when they are eating and sleeping and in groups so they don’t drift away from each other . I’m sure you feel the comfort safety and protection from each other ❤️. I live in Los Angeles close to the city so lots of buildings in my vicinity but I do go up to the rooftop patio with my coffee and look out in the distance. You truly are a happy and encouraging lady! In our early seventies and married 33 years, we still hold hands when we go anywhere. My husband also opens the car door for me. Like you, there are hugs and kisses throughout the day. I do wake up early like you and enjoy my quiet time. I keep on top of laundry and vacuuming. My husband likes to cook and I clean the kitchen. I like to straighten up the house before I go to bed so I will wake up to a clean house. Retirement is fun, but an adjustment. You have to find your purpose in life and keep active. The aging process speeds up and friends and family members pass away. Your suggestions on how to be happy and laugh are very helpful! Many thanks Renee!

The one thing I do every single day as I'm kissing my husband goodbye before he leaves for work is tell him how nice he looks, how good he smells and how handsome he is. I change it up some days asking him if he has a hot date waiting for him because he looks so good. I just like sending him off for the day feeling good about himself. It must be working because we've been together 29 years now. 😍

Loved this thank you. I must say there’s nothing wrong with frozen berries (I take out night before) to eat with yoghurt because fruit is frozen quickly, it retains nutritional value. Same with some veggies. If your fresh fruit is truly fresh nutrient value may be similar, however if fresh fruit was shipped and on store shelves for a bit, it may contain fewer nutrients. A lot of people live far away from shops and can’t have fresh every single day. That’s the only reason I’m posting about this. Loved your sunlight stand/light. Def good for those living in Vancouver. ☔️

The #1 thing I do is on your list as well. My husband and I could only have our one miracle child -- our son. My life-changing tip? When Covid hit (and certainly not forgetting the terrible things many went through), for me personally, there were some positive changes in my life. I went from my 1-hour, daily commute to the city for the past 15 years (ugh!), to working from home (yay!!); I am able to attend TLM mass during the week, if I so choose where I could not before. And since there are only a few people attending during the week, it is so peaceful, calm and quiet; I love it, it's a great way to start the day, imho. When I get home, I walk my dog for a few minutes before I start work and at lunch hour, I take him out again to a nearby park where we play ball. He's a super energetic dog, so it's hilarious to watch him run so fast with his short little legs! 😂

One tip that is very helpful is before you get out of bed, drink a glass of water first as you go without water for the time you are asleep so even a small glass of water say 8 to 12 oz is usually good and it actually wakes up the brain because your brain needs water too, if you're properly hydrated you'll be more alert. My other tip is whether you write it down or just say it is to say thank you for another day and to be grateful you can move, breathe, think etc... be grateful for your body and mind and such.

This is great advice and I plan to add some to my day. I do a couple of things every day that make me just feel better. I'm a music lover, so I don't think I'd be happy if a skipped a day without listening to music at some point. I love discovering new music and new artists that I enjoy and I listen to a number of different genres of music. I also try to get some reading in every day and I'm usually reading two books at once. I read a novel of some sort (again, I try to find new genres to read and new authors to read) and I also try to read some kind of non-fiction factual book (a biography, a book on dog behavior, a book on anything that interests me). And an absolute must every day is cuddling with the animals (3 dogs and 2 cats). One thing my husband and I do every day is him helping me walk. II fell down our stairs a few years ago and suffered a number of injuries, including a traumatic brain injury (tbi). I was very lucky--my speech isn't impaired, my memory isn't impaired, I didn't "forget" anything. But I don't walk well (I would flunk a field sobriety test when I'm stone cold sober). When I go somewhere, I need a cane (on a good day), a walker or support. My husband takes my arm and he's my support and that means we touch and are close and it's just one of the way he shows me how much he loves me and takes me "as I am"--warts and all. And there is one thing I try NOT to do every day--watch politics. What's happening in our politics just simply depresses me terribly. I vote and if I have very strong feelings about something, I'll send an e-mail or call my Senators and Representative, but I stay away from all the clownish things our elected officials seem to be doing in this day and age.

The 8/16 hour fasting has worked so well for me also. I tried a 6 and even 4 hour eating time and it just didn't work for me. I take every other day off and since I am retired I can plan my days. I will do housework or errands every other day on my rest day I do whatever I want. We worked hard for this house and it's nice to be able to enjoy it.

You truly radiate happiness with your positive attitude and your spunky personality! One thing I try to do to make me happy - is watch your you tube videos! They always inspire me and put me in a good mood to start my day! I also try to listen to music - especially when I'm doing chores. PS Love your new couch in your office!

Renee you are a positive ray of sunshine. I like that you don’t listen to the news. I have found it brings me down and I tried just not listening to it and it has lightened my mood. Every morning I get everyone out the door and then I go for a long walk with my dog. I feel like it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something good.I’m a list maker too - helps keep me on track. I love your kind spirit, you are very inspirational. I try to tell my love ones that I love them every day too. Thanks for all your videos

Hey Renee😊 thanks for your video today, your daily routine and what you try to achieve sounds something very much like myself. I'm happy when all the jobs are done and I can have 30 mins for myself with a good coffee outside. I agree with you totally about family, it's very important to me too, look after yourselves and have a nice weekend together with Randy and the boys.🇬🇧🐾🌞🍄🎃🌻💛

Hi Renee Great video as always. I have started to try and make my bed more often since your previous video regarding that. I start my day by drinking coffee and watching your videos and a couple others to ease into my day. I am not a morning person so I make my to do list the night before and get the coffee ready so all I have to do is hit the ON button. I agree with one of your other followers- I want more Maxxie and Pollux! I too started watching when you adopted Pollux. It is so cute when we get a glimpse of one of them sneaking around especially when you do the fashion shoots in the foyer.

Your morning arrangement with your parents is similar to what I have with my 91 year old mom. She texts me between 7:30 and 10:00 every day so I know she woke up.

Renee, I like the black tank that you have on. I’m looking for one that is loose around my belly. Thank you for the simple tips and pleasures of life, and something as simple as looking into the distance. What a great idea💕
