Renee, I must tell you that I have enjoyed watching your videos and getting to know you and your family. I think I can say that I think you would miss your business if you sold it. Have you thought about finding a manager or a partner to run the business and remaining the owner or co-owner? That way that person could run it and you could come and go as you pleased. I'm sure you enjoy it the majority of the time but get tired of being the sole person all the time. Thank you for sharing.

What I learned from this video is that you realize when something isn't working for you and then you change it and move on. That is such a good quality to have. It sounds easy to do but it isn't always. I admire you for that.

I love your decide to be happy comment. My amazing Dad passed at the age of 95 ,6 years ago. I always remember he use to say "somebody has to be happy... and you have to decide its you!" I am now 72, and I honestly can say... my dad was the most positive, happy person I have ever met in my life! Whenever life gets tough, I still think.. how would Daddy handle this. Hi Jan! After my ice cream shop is sold.....I'm going to take a long deep breath and relax for a while. I want a normal life...go out to dinner on a Saturday night, take weekend trips if I want to, not work 7 days a week, and just enjoy being with my husband for a while (of course on the beach 🏖)

@@WelcomeToMyCurls I was betting on you spending even more time on your Amazon videos, etc, but I think you may be able to more easily integrate them into your "new lifestyle" than all of the physical work that running an ice cream shop entails. I only hope that the "infomercial/influencer" videos stay seperate from your main channel. (Except for the products that YOU purchase, use, and decide to share with us). I hope you are able to sell the shop in a timely manner and are not constantly "on call" by the new owner(s) the same way that your were with your franchise. 🥰🥰🥰 (BTW- once you sell, will the new owner have franchise rights?)

That was awesome. I'm really happy for you Renée and your decision to sell. I think your timing is perfect. They say "A lady always knows when it's time to leave. ~ Fried green tomatoes" and you are a lady with a capital L. I was forced into an early retirement because of a spine injury that left me disabled. I hated leaving my chosen profession (x-ray) because I loved it. But seeing how healthcare's face continues the change for the worse makes me extremely happy to no longer be a part of it. You can walk away happy, light and with peace. I love this for you. I love my life now...I'm no longer a slave to an alarm clock and I get to choose what I want to do and where I want to go. Freedom to live and freedom to choose are all good and awesome things. Congrats!

Renee, I stumbled onto your channel a few days ago and you are really an inspiration! Love hearing you speak and you are so interesting. You are right on about having a happy marriage. I am right there with you. Forgiveness and acceptance just about covers all relationships. Yes, I believe in God, treating others with kindness,but, debating the denominations doesn’t interest me. My faith is a big part of me and I hope people will always see that in the way I live. I look forward in watching where your life takes you next. Maybe a podcast or writing a book. You and your mom were so lucky because even in the 1970s, a considerable number of young men still only wanted biological children. For the longest time, there was a stigma against unwed or divorced mothers, along with skittish men who either really didn't want to become instant daddies or worse--simply outright refused to raise another man's child, regardless of why the natural father wasn't in the picture. At the time, a man who took on the role of dad right away was uncommon, making him a darn good catch and a definite keeper you didn't let go of. As I said, lady luck shined on you two. 🍀

I appreciate you giving a shout-out to your accounting/finance mentor Jackie. It's a blessing to have someone who's willing to share their knowledge and experience with you, and will take the time to show you the ropes. It's kind of sad that you're giving up the shop, but I get it -- you seem to be a person with very high standards, and I think even if you hired a crackerjack manager to handle the day-to-day, you probably wouldn't be able to resist getting involved. My question: Will you allow the new owner to keep the name? Personally, I'd insist on a name change as a condition of the sale; I'd be worried about experiencing "guilt by association" if the new owner lets things slip.

Way to go Renee. You have definitely worked hard and paid your dues in life. I'm glad you moved on early as a young mom and gave Kendall a loving father. It took me 20 years to get out of a dv relationship. I look back and wish I would have given my two sons a loving environment and had faith we would have thrived on our own. I worked many tough jobs, I put myself through college, became a teacher in my 50's, and survived a lifetime of "stuff" as I focused on being safe and happy. My sons are awesome and we had many awesome adventures despite the early years. If anyone experiences a negative, unhealthy, or dangerous relationship; they need to get out. Your life and your kid's life is too precious. I do appreciate your humor, ethics, and honesty. I hope you sell your shop, enjoy your vacation, and spend more time with family. Have a blessed day.

I recently found your channel and just love your videos! Your personality and zest for life are so uplifting! Good for you for realizing that it is time for you to sell your ice cream shop. I am almost 56 and decided a few years ago to retire from dental hygiene after 28 years. I didn't enjoy doing it anymore and it was causing me a lot of stress and anxiety. I'm really surprised that you decided to sell your ice cream shop but also not surprised. You work so hard with the shop and take care of the house, the family (including the boys) and the videos! Hi Renee, I am a new follower of your channel and really enjoyed this Q and A, even though it’s and older one I learned many things about you and your lifestyle! When you brought up your husband’s blood clot my ears perked up and I showed it to my husband, he had two huge PE’s in 2023 that were luckily caught early enough to save his life, but he wanted me to ask how soon after the Covid vaccine did he have the blood clot? My husband was more or less forced to get it, or lose his job, when he was in civil service at an Air Force base in Illinois. Anywho, glad all is well in your world and thanks for sharing your life with us! 😊

Essentially, he got the doses of vaccine in April and May...and developed the blood clot on June 7th which resulted in a heart attack. All is well now except he must take blood thinners for the rest of his life.

Because of you and your documented journey of going gray, I too have decided to stop coloring my hair. I’m in my early 40’s and started to color my hair a couple of years ago when the grays started coming in like crazy. But, I really did not like how the hair color was drying out my hair. Anyway, thanks a million for sharing your journey while you transitioned to natural gray hair. Renee's accent is one of numerous regional accents. Hers is a mid South drawl which is different from the ones in the Deep South, Appalachia, Texas/Oklahoma, Ozarks and south Louisiana. And that's just one section of the lower 48 states !

Well that was the most in-debth "Ask Me Anything" vid and I loved it! Thank you for sharing your life with us. It just makes it more fun. So glad you are going to downsize the stress level by selling the shop. I will be praying for the perfect fit for a new owner or owners. I love your shop and wished I lived closer. Well, I certainly learned some things today: I had no clue whatsoever or would have ever thought that you and Randy were each previously married. Though, I was sorry to hear Kendall's biological father decided after getting married and becoming a dad that he wanted out of both roles. I too found out my then husband didn't want to be a committed partner either....we had no children but it was still devastating. But for you everything worked out beautifully---recconecting with Randy, he accepting Kendall as his own and you two having Brecken together. What a story ! The unexpected twists and turns life gives us are something, aren't they ? But now I'm curious how your girls' names were chosen. What's the origin of each ?
