I convinced my sister to try Terraria a while back. She encountered the dungeon, and like the amazing sister I am I convinced her to go into it and explore. I then laughed my head off as the Dungeon Guardian triggered. This was on her livestream, too. I later did this same prank to a friend. Best prank ever.

This was done in Tmod: The WeaponOut mod has a weapon called Staff of Explosion (Which is basically Megumin's staff) The weapon has recoil implemented and the explosion will push players away depending on where you aim. I utilized this to move my afk friend to a teleporter and bring them all the way to the brimstone crag or sulphurous seas (We play Calamity a bunch). Every time he returned, he just said "Why am I here?"

Bonus points to number 15: don't get caught the first time they come to you and wait for them to leave... move the alter slightly to the left or right and resume position. See if you can fool them again and do something a bit different (remove one piece of armor or swap it with something else, flip the stance in the opposite direciton etc.). Find out how many iterations you can get away with.

with shimmer, you can prank friends by pouring shimmer at their spawnpoint (and the world spawn, if they get wise) so that they fall through their base and into a trap you set. works best if the friend doesn't have the anti-shimmer cape and lives in a grounded base, because then you can force them to shimmer into the underworld.

Why not use the announcement box trick to just outright say "The air is getting colder around you..." or any of the other pre-boss Spawning messages? That way you can immediately send them into fight or flight, as they scramble to prepare for a "terrible night". The air is getting colder around you..." looks identical to the normal message, so while keen eyed players might notice that there's no boss spawn with the "Skeletron Prime has awoken!" Message, there's NO way to tell which one is real with the other one.

Khaios is secretly devious. A lot of these pranks I can totally see him setting up in Terracorps Season 2, as long as he's the first one on the server (which seems easy enough) Love that BlueJay's prank was the final one. His is a staple of the server let's plays.

I was playing on a master mode world with my friend, it was our second day of playing, and they had placed 200 torches down our helevator, causing the torch god to spawn and kill us every time we went underground. It got very frustrating lol.

Out of all the pranks/trolls I've seen in Terraria, I don't think any of them are as simple as placing a landmine on the grass painting it grey so it looks like a rock, then when your friends walk over it thinking it's just a decorative rock, they boom

I had a base where we had all of our chests and crafting stations downstairs. To go up and down there were vertical stairs to each side of the basement. I used diagonal platforms against a one wide wall to transform the wall into a one way gate, and every once in a while, when they went to the side to then go up out of the basement, they kept pressing forward and ended up in a closed dark room behind the one way gate, having to mirror out. Its just amazing to see them frustrated at the fact that they forget about it every 10 minutes. (Also hidden duck statues are amazing and really noisy)

Even better is to go to a different world, get some temple bricks and shadow paint. That way once you force them into the box, they are trapped and cannot dig out if it's pre-golem

Then they would spawn in a cube with only wormhole as an exit. Or even better now, echo brick. It's invisible.

My best prank was setting up a player sensor on the way to the world's skyrail, which was connected to an announcement box with a large chunk of the snapcube eggman moon rant on it, so whenever they took the normal route to the skyrail the chat would be graced with "I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT[...]" in red. Even better was the fact that the sensor was super sensitive for some reason, so it would be activated multiple times whenever someone walked over it, filling up the chat completely. Everyone was beyond confused, and it went on for a play session or two (the skyrail wasn't used super often and there here multiple ways up) until they noticed the announcement box, it was fantastic.

This video was amazing! I convinced my little sister to create a world designed for pranks (single player), and she started building a base. Then it was my turn. I did the geyser prank and placed a bunch of painted landmines randomly in the world. In a far away corner of the crimson, I did the "air is getting colder" one, and I figured out how to make it say "skeletron prime has awoken!" a certain time later! And then, under her base, I gave her some peaceful white noise. I called her back into the room, and gave her the controller. But what I didn't know? She had watched this video, too! As she walks into her base, all you can hear is the noise. And she looked me right in the eyes, and said "Where's the dummy?!" XD

I’ve got a great prank I’ve used before with amazing results. It’s a bit tedious to setup, but essentially just make an up hoik out of echo blocks that leads into some death trap. Another favorite of mine that I can’t claim responsibility for is to paint stuff in the color of the Minecraft missing texture (bonus points if you pretend it still looks normal for you). It won’t work on everyone, but some people will fall for it hook line and sinker. I play with a friend who has experienced a few file corruptions, and I’ve been painting some of the things he builds. Mostly npc houses, never anything that clearly took time and effort. To this day he has yet to figure it out.

Now that the transmutation glitch has been discovered, you can set something up at a queen bee larva to summon her without breaking the larva. You can use this to summon a large ammount of queen bees that will kill you, then fly over to your friends for a big suprise.

4:00 Just noticed some pretty cool details about the effort that’s put into these videos. There must be a cut between “Test Dummy” walking away from house, and walking into house, as the platform properties are changed, but there would be a noticeable jump because of it, due to the cloud in the background and their constant movement. This means the background must have been edited out for a still picture to make the cut clean and smooth. One small issue however, is that if you look directly at the grass shown at the bottom right of the screen, you can see it disappear as the cut happens. While it’s not a clean cut and instead a fade, it still signifies when it happens.
