Da Ni thank you. Prayers are so helpful. I had the stroke 3 years ago. My left arm is still paralyzed my speech was first to return but therapy sat with me the day of and for many days later to be sure my swallowing wasn’t affected. Occupational therapy would have me read aloud, work math and memory pretty intensely the first few weeks. Physical therapy worked with my walking intensely the first few weeks. I had uncontrollable blood pressure but thank God I chose the hospital I did. They discovered the artery to my kidney was stopped up so it was stinted and I can keep my blood pressure controlled. It my get a little high but nothing near the 220/120 it stayed before. I take medicine daily and try to watch my blood pressure. If I loose weight it can get too low and I feel awful so I try to maintain my weight where I am. I have low potassium and I’m a severe anemic and due to problems I have with my stomach I cannot take the meds for those problems but I’m going to try dottera vitamins and grow a moringa tree for the leaves and I’m hoping that helps my vitamin depletion’s

I had two haemmorragic strokes at the age of 4 and half in 1969 in Burbank, California.. Since then, I am physically handicapped on the right side.(. I had two aneurysms then. I am now living alone and make the best of it since I am 20 years old. I work. I am 57 years old. Good luck, David

My friend is now 25. She's had two strokes, one at 19 and one at 22. She had brain surgeries both times. The cause of her strokes are still unknown.

My stroke (CVA) happened in December 1985 when I had just turned 22. Lost complete function of my right side and in wheelchair for six months. I had intensive physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy for over 16 months at RHCH in Winchester. Today April 2022, I can walk, talk, see and function quite well. I still have limited use of my right hand and arm, can’t walk in the dark and forget things very easily. My stroke was caused by a migraine headache and I also have Thrombophillia (very thick, sticky blood) and the combination of the two caused a spasm in an artery in my brain which stopped the thick blood flowing through. This happened on a Friday and I was not diagnosed as having a stroke until after a brain scan at Southampton neurological unit on the Sunday, three days later. My mum kept saying that I’d had a stroke but was told “Oh she’s far too young for that to have happened……”. I hate how it has changed me and how it made me feel. Many mistakes made by me due to this happening. It changes you so so much…….you are a different person 😩😭😱

At age 35, I had a Sub-Arachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) stroke due to the same cause as Sarah, an Arterio-Venous Malformation (AVM). What she calls "migraine" is actually the blood from the burst blood vessels causing excessive pressure in your brain.

I am so sorry to hear this it sounds so frightening. I'm 33 and I've had so many small strokes. I want to be able to help people with chronic conditions as horrific as this it's so hard to navigate the physical recovery and then the psychological recovery is harder.

I had a stroke when I was 18. I'm 20 now. Thankfully I recovered without any long term injuries. But still after many many MANY tests and MRIs doctors still don't know why that happened to me so I may never know...

Thank you! He's doing very well. They're still in the process of doing tests every few months on him. They suspect it was an AVM like with the girl in this video. They just haven't found an AVM yet, if it's even there at all anymore. They believe it could've actually completely severed when it ruptured and is no longer there to cause any more problems. I'm glad to hear that you recovered from your stroke without issue! He's still doing physical therapies at the moment, but he should make a full or almost full recovery. Sorry for the long reply back haha, no need to respond :P

The triage nurse sounds like my GP! When I was 23 I had slurred speech, numbness in my face and down one side of my body etc but nothing was done! I'm in the UK and we have a free healthcare, which used to be great, but now is over subscribed and badly run! Glad this beautiful young lady is alive and recovered - long may her recovery continue!

In 2017 my 29 year old has a stroke due to AVM , because of its location no operation to fix it , they coiled it which didn’t kill it off , a year and half ago she had radiation... now we wait .. but life has change in so many negative ways .. we were given minimal information, we live in Canada , BC , it’s exactly what ambulance attendants told us to , she was to young , he lay down a paycheck

I suffered a stroke last year when I was 32. Thank goodness for the triage nurses and listening to me. I knew for some reason that I was suffering a stroke. Unfortunately I still do not know the exact cause of mine. PFO or birth control.

I had a stroke 2 years ago, I didn't find out until over a week later that it was a stroke I had, I had 1 symptom, repeat symptom of a stroke. I had the stroke April 3, 2016, I had a temp job that morning, I woke up and thought that I had had a really weird and strange dream. But then i had a hard time walking straight, I had to have my hand on my wall to get to where I was going. I don't think that I had any other symptom other then my walking, so I just went to the temp job and worked all day. After I got off I went home and took it easy. Monday I didn't do much either, didn't feel too good but didn't think too much of that. By Tuesday I was so sick I had to go to the ER at the VA hospital. the Dr there thought it was just the flu and said to take it easy and don't do much, so I went home and took it easy. Wednesday I still felt sick so i went back to the ER with my parents this time and same dr, same "Oh don't worry just drink more water and let it take it's course,' but I couldn't keep water down, I kept throwing up everything I ate or swallowed. he gave me some suppositories. And went home with my parents then and stayed with them. By Saturday I still couldn't walk very well and needed my moms walker to get around. Then my mom called a nurse and she said to check my blood pressure and it was 180 over 140 and the nurse said to go to the ER right away, so we did. The DR at the ER said that I had been to the ER 3 times since Tuesday, and that they could admit me to the hospital to figure out what was wrong with me. I said yes to being admitted to the VA hospital. That was late Saturday night. Then Monday I had a cat scan that didn't show anything wrong. but the neurologist said that she still thought that I had had a stroke and I had another cat scan but with dye this time. You could see one blood vessel going up the back of my neck but not the other one, so that's when I found out that it really was a stroke that I had a full week after I had it. I worked really hard in physical rehab and now I live on my own again and do almost everything myself. I could be so much worse then I am, my balance and equilibrium are off a little, worse then what it was after I went through rehab. After a stroke your recovery is every single day the rest of your life. After your stroke you will never be the same again. The life you had before you stroke is dead and over. And you have a new life and a new reality that you now have to live in. You have a choice to make after your stroke, are you going to work as hard as you can to get back as much as you can to get back your former self or not? You recover from a stroke everyday the rest of your life. There is not a day that you can take it easy and be lazy, if you do that then soon you will not be able to do what you were able to do in your recovery. You pretty much have to work hard every day the rest of your life. Some people who work as hard as they've ever worked in their lives and they still won't recover much of what they could do before their stroke, they had a stroke in the wrong place and the wrong time, but that's just the way strokes are. Every stroke is different, every stroke victim is different, every stroke recovery is different. You can never put a stroke victim in a box and tell them what they will or won't be able to do in their recovery. I was in a nursing home for veterans and their spouses and March 2, 2017 I moved back to the place I had before my stroke , my family wasn't sure if I could take care of myself then, but I knew I could.

unfortunately when I was in hospital last July , a 25 year old woman in the bed next to me had a stroke due to toxic shock syndrome. She was in very bad shape for a few days . She couldn't speak or sit up etc. When I was discharged a few days later , she was eating , speaking and had full cognition. She was very lucky.

Is she still alive? study shows that people die 30 days later or 1-5 years later after stroke. I've been feeling so much pressure in my head. i'm scare. I've been trying to be chill but fuck. Like it just triggers my anxiety out of nowhere and now i'm getting headaches back of my head and sinus feels like it has so much pressure. I do get dizzy a lot too and sounds freaks me out to easily. and i'm 25! and they said people get stroke at 25 hdkajshsoshsosjdhdjkd

Hello Alice thank you. I had my stroke August 27, 2015. My side effects are muscle spasms in my left hand and arm they only started less than 1 year ago. I use to have seizures but now they are under control I haven’t had one in 1 year 1/2. How are you doing thanks for replying.

So she had two insedences of a stroke. What mini stroke with no brain mater died ? I know of two people that had miner mini strokes why would they make a big deal tell evety person they know they had stroke. They not 0need recovery they not looseall kinds of people . my two diferant docters i had were not all that up on stroke stuff . ya they good at percribing the useal post stroke meds . they not know or care what causes strokes ? Yeah I went to the ER for severe abdominal pain, and after my CT my radiologist who did the CT gave the OK to discharge me. And now I'm scheduling to get a total abdominal colectomy. And my GI specialist who saw the CT scan results said it was very clear that I needed medical attention and should've stayed in the hospital. So I get how upset Dr.Travis was about the triage nurse.
