video was uploaded in sept, 100-101 was changed in aug 16. you may still use what they suggest and run version 12.* or you can do: 2x 2821 router 2x 3750 switches and run version 15.*

Jeremy, I love Cisco as well as your voice. I learnt a lot from your all training videos. When you said about Cisco vs Juniper, you said Cisco is the best and also the reason - what we know and interested. I love juniper as well.. JunOS got structured command lines what is missing in Cisco IOS, and I like the COMMIT and ROLLBACK feature what we don't have in Cisco IOS switches and routers. Again, we have to learn Cisco and CCNA exams..

took the first test of v2 exam and failed by 3 marks out of 1k(yes I did not touch the books but was top in class in all the labs, so was cocky as hell) but did not give up, I returned and started studying the cisco books but saw weeks later that v2 can no longer be taken(don't usually go to cisco website a lot) and had to study for v3(a few extra topics but no biggie)... the problem I had with the first half of the test was that it had a lot of theoretical stuff found in the books but did not even come up when doing labs in the classroom, they were just not that important.... that was a major problem with me since I could configure and explain in detail anything you threw at me but had no idea of some of the really finer details in terms of definitions and advantages/disadvantages of certain things(this stuff is found in the books only).... later on I realized that the single exam has a lot less theoretical stuff since there was no room for them in 1 exam and be able to cover a lot of topics.... if I had taken the single exam I would have found a job already instead of staying at home studying.... it was one of the things that I really regret in my life, it was my decision and I screwed it up even though I was advised otherwise :/

I know this vid is older, but it still references the current version of the exam. I recently just re-certed the 200-125 and received 65 questions and quite a few were outside the exam blueprint. Fun times.

I passed the ICND1 v2 100-101 a couple of months ago and looking to do ICND2 v2 200-101 but its been changed for v3. I've rang Cisco and they confirmed I can do v3 after passing the ICND1 for v2. But I feel like I'm missing out of new content. What would you recommend doing?

@DVS1N50MN1AC7 жыл бұрын
No definitely start CCENT.
@nukeZ3r07 жыл бұрын
That's wrong. You can go straight for the CCNA R&S in 1 test. CCNA 200-125
@DVS1N50MN1AC7 жыл бұрын
yeah but its never recommended. The composite test is usually geared for those who done CCNA before. Its better (not compulsory) to do the two test route.

I studied CCNA 1, 2, 3 and 4 back on 2009, then I got a refresh course on 2013 but I was unable to get a job on it at that time, I'm going back to study it, have it changed much on this 4 years? I know now we have Ipv6, but are the basic configs still the same?

@lynxlive5558 жыл бұрын
cisco needs to orientate exams around what employers actually want, ccna and ccnp doesn't prepare you for industry. no one who is running a full cisco infrastructure is going to hire someone without prior experience in networking, if you are a fresh ccna you are more likely to work on contract for a smaller company with a mix and match of devices, juniper routers, hp procurves, low end cisco switches, vpn, some webfiltering, and ids/ips.
@Renzore1017 жыл бұрын
I agree on someone without prior experience, if I wasn't afforded the opportunity to get on a network team at a large enterprise during my college internship I don't believe I would have a chance at junior/mid level job postings, regardless of cert.
@meisterdiyer34916 жыл бұрын
Majority of the time yes. But not all true, there are still large organization that hire people with NO experience, not a lot but there are some. I was lucky enough to be hired without prior experience, why? Because people with no experience but with cert/degree are cheap! $35k-$55k a year depending on where you are. And if you prove that you are worthy then you can get a bump or move up. 2 things, its how you sell yourelf and sometimes who you know.
