When Sanath Jayasuriya is in the mood to hit 4's & 6's it's a feast for the eyes of even the fans of the opposite team. Such a graceful master blaster he really was. Had all his shots timed with power and perfection and not just by slog. He had a unique batting style and technique throughout his career. Probably the best aggressive and fearless batsman ever since Sir Vivian Richards. Much love and respect from India for making my childhood absolutely memorable...!! ❤🙏🏻

You are correct, he didn't retire at the correct stage, that is why it was exposed.Every champion has a time of decline, main problem is they do not understand it properly.

Nalinda Jayasinghe ofcourse he was one of best batsmen of 90's. He played some exceptional innings specially against India. He was a nightmare for bowlers since 1996 WC. We Indian always wanted to get rid of him asap any day.

90's belonged to Sanath. I think his emergence brought a school-of-thought that the game can gain more speed. That gave way to endless possibilities including modern T20 concept which now create instinctively attacking players. Sanath did it naturally. Modern day players are groomed for it. In that sense..he has served cricket well.
