When I saw the clip at 28:48 with the store clerk throwing food at the would be robber, I’m positive I saw the glass doors (closed) get smashed! I went back to watch again because I couldn’t tell if the robber smashed the doors or the store guy did with the basket he threw. And then I ended up completely freaked out because despite watching it another 5 more times, the doors were now opened and no glass was smashed! 😳

That inset with the horses in India made me think of the descriptions of the ancient Rajas having a cavalry of 200 000 horsemen and their horses. Except that cavalry would have been in splendid and ornate livery and the horsemen would have looked magnificent in their immaculate dress with turbans, various unique weaponry and glittering swords. Their descendants went to fight for the allied forces in world war I and they were attired exactly the same as their ancient ancestors.
@patstokes70402 жыл бұрын
That wasn't India. That was in Mongolia.
@bakatiaramed30262 жыл бұрын
@@patstokes7040 Actually I beg to differ. The Punjabi Sikh leaders and other powerful Rajas and Maharajas were not only fabulously rich but very powerful. The Punjabi people are very famous for not only their cavalry skills but also are well known for their special breeding of horses. They jealously bred/breed their horses and will/would never allow anyone the chance to breed from their stud stock - at any price!!! They would rather kill their horses than allow someone to breed from them. (a Rajputan prince told me this) There are accounts of vast cavalries of 45000 to 200 000 engaging in battles. (Maharaja Ranjit Singh comes to mind.) Remember that although a Maharaja's cavalry was vast it did not mean that the entire cavalry was used in one place. To defend or take over a territory the cavalry would be split up into units with generals (normally Rajas and Ranas (Princes) with their own cavalries) heading each unit for a given mission and an area to cover. By default this would make a combined cavalry of vast numbers for the Maharaja. We must not think of these cavalries in the same light as a modern cavalry unit. There were many kingdoms throughout the South-West Asian area. These kingdoms were ruled by the Emperors of the day. Not unlike medieval England the majority of the cavalry and army members were private citizens who trained themselves to be able to take part in war to defend their kingdom. They had their normal occupations but honed their skills for warfare. Male children did not necessarily play with the toys of the West. Their games included things like balancing games by climbing on each other to make pyramids, wrestling, riding horses bareback and performing stunts on horseback. Even a traditional game like cricket called Gilli Danda honed the children's skills in speed and accuracy to hit a wooden peg with a stick which had to be caught by the opponents. When older they would throw spears through hoops while on horseback and have duelling and wrestling competitions to see who was stronger and win the royal favour. When the British first encountered the Indian warriors they were faced with having to deal with experienced warriors expertly handling sophisticated hand held weapons which they had never seen before. Because of the multiplicity of kingdoms in the South-West Asian area all of the leaders of these kingdoms had to always be alert and the citizens obediently and proudly obeyed their leaders if there was a threat of attack. During the Sepoy rebellion there was one battle in May 1837 at Qaiser Bach near Lucknow where as many as 38 000 Indians were killed in one day. Unfortunately the ancient equine machine was no match for the gun and cannon power of the British. Considering this you can possibly understand, -taking into account the number of Indians who died along with many (princes)Ranas and Rajas- how vast the original combined armed Indian cavalry and army would have been. A little known fact is the Mughal Emperors originated from Afghanistan. The name Afghan translates as Horseman or Cavalier. Obviously the Mughal Emperors would not only have had vast cavalries at their disposal but also used waring elephants. Both breeds of animal would have been decked in magnificent livery. Another little known fact is that it was considered a great honour for a Mughal Prince to be given the duty to care for and guard the personal horses and elephants of the emperor. Today we would consider the job of a stable hand as low; at that time it was reserved only for the elite and royal. This was long after the occupation of Genghis Khan of the sub continent. But certainly I have to agree that the Mongolian people were and still are very famous for their love and nurturing and expert horsemanship of their equine friends; and anyone would be stupid to deny that Genghis Khan would have had not one but many cavalries containing vast herds of waring horses and expert cavaliers. Also knowing his reputation I suppose there is a good possibility that a good percentage of the Afghan population is descended from Genghis Khan. Best Wishes. Lamees Ahmad

This is true and kinda funny that we still use this measure of power in automobile engines. For those who don't know, a horsepower is the amount of work needed to lift 550 pounds one foot in one second.
