Its amazing that you were able to give the beauty of the gospel message in the middle of dealing with a septic tank. I should start a KZbin channel and put gospel messages in it. Thank you thought I was only going to figure out my leech bed issue, now you gave me an idea on how to witness as well! Thank you!

Thanks for the nice comment. Understand we all have done things in our past that we are not real proud of for the bible says, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". Jesus knew that neither you or I could live a life good enough to earn our right standing with God so that is why he laid down his life on the cross taking the punishment for your sin and mine. Salvation is a free gift there for the taking. I will be praying for you. I would encourage you to pray, "God if you are real and out there show yourself to me in a practical way." He will answer that prayer!!!

Praying for you and everyone in the same place you are. I ask that you not think so much about "Burning for eternity" but instead think of how much better it is to live as God's obedient child. He provides us with all we need and He guides our efforts and blesses us when we seek His will. I believed my whole life but only lived as His obedient child for the last 10 years. And I am actually still working on the obedient part. I will be 60 years old in August so you see that some of us take a long time. He understands and He judges righteously. I hope this comment gives you good thoughts about the matter.

@@rickdees251 that is an interesting strategy: go for the money by reaching out to people who can’t afford to pay for septic repairs. This guy knew that he was going to receive a lot of negative responses to his presentation of the Gospel, and yet he cares enough about the people who would be saying bad things about him, to make an appeal for their soul. I pray that someday God will remove your heart of stone and bless you with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).

Thank you for this video, I have been saying this for the past 8 plus yrs, my home is only 14 yrs old & djainfield replaced twice & failed AGAIN! My lot was originally in a flood zone, & builder had it “ changed” so he could build. Yard was not excavated correctly, can’t keep going thru this, ( terminally ill) . Also believe in gravel over those stupid domes, BUT septic company keep saying it was the BEST! Definitely going todo this, THANK YOU, I worked for a builder yrs ago in another state, & NEVER installed dome systems, thank you , now I know I am not crazy.

Great, glad it helped. Interestingly all the septic systems I spoke about in the video are ones I have been responsible for for the last 20 +/- years so my suggestion aren't just things I have done and walked away from but rather systems that if there was a problem over the last 20 years I would have gotten a phone call.

Inside the tank there should be "T" on inlet and outlets with a dip pipe about 14" , this prevent solids from backing to plug line from house, and keeps floating solids from going out to field lines and plugging them. Top of the "T" s should be open and 2" below top of tank so gases can escape, and the waste water can flow. If the 'T' is missing replace it that will help prevent plugging field distribution perforated lines.

And dig a trench like you’re teaching in the video- With the pump pushing it do I need to keep the pipe level? Or does it have to have a slight pitch to drain into the trench?

If I don't pull a permit with the county and I do my drain field repair on a Sunday technically that's theft.. As the county won't make that ridiculous revenue for the permit. So am I going to hell or can I just call it even for all the money they steal from me in property tax... You don't pay rent for something you own.

Ty for doing these videos, I got a couple ?’s for you, I pray you answer. Do you use perforated pipe or solid pipe, what size pipe do you use? Should you cap off the ends so tree roots can’t climb up the pipe?
@joshharper1027
@joshharper1027 2 жыл бұрын
That pipe is perforated. I believe you can buy them at Lowe's or Home Depot. If not, just buy a 3 or 4 inch pipe and drill a bunch of holes in it. The size of the pipe depends on the size of the exit pipe from the septic tank. I don't think the pipe size matters as long as it's 2.5+ inches in diameter. The pipe he is using looks to be about 3-3.5"? And yes, cap off the end of the pipe that way nothing grows in it and you can extend the pipe in the future if you ever have any problems.

@creativerepairing2960

Use a 4 inch rubber union with hose clamps which can be purchased at home depot or Lowes. You can glue one side of the T to the pipe you cut out and the other side of the T if you glue a short piece of sewer pipe into it and slide the rubber union over it then once you put the T in place slide the rubber union into position over both ends of the sewer pipe and tighten the clamps

Hi Scott, The one in the video was about 20ft long, 5ft deep, and at the top was about 2 1/2ft wide but tapered down to about 1ft wide at the bottom. The more surface contact the drain field has with the outside dirt the better as that surface contact is where the water disseminates out of the drain field. That is why we kept it deep and narrow. Surely the bigger you make it (the more surface contact) the longer life you will get out of it.

Good morning and blessing s to you and your family! I think your for your advise! And yes this would definitely save me about 6000 from replacing drainfield. So I would like to try this first . Is there a way to figure out where the drain field is located next to the septic or find which side the pipe going from the septic to the drain field is?
@creativerepairing2960
@creativerepairing2960 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, If your ground is soft enough you can use a probe like the one in the video to locate it. Some areas are very rocky so this wouldn't work in which case you could remove the lid from the tank and view which side the pipe is on. Some tanks just have a access port which if you remove that you might be able to hold a mirror in the access whole and see where the pipe is. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the response!! I have another question. Sorry this will be my first time doing this so I’m kinda slow when it comes to these projects . But how deep and how long do dig the trench for , also are you willing to travel to Florida? :)
@creativerepairing2960
@creativerepairing2960 2 жыл бұрын
Hi The size of the trench will determine determine life extension you will get out of your project. The repair we spoke of in the video which was about 4 tons of gravel in our experience will probably last 10 to 15 years. I know of 2 of them which are about 20 years old and still flowing. The outlet from the tank going into the drain field, if it is an elbow facing downward will greatly increase the life of the job.

First off thanks for the video. One thing though. The turn down at septic tank exit. How on earth can that draw? That should be a vacuum preventing any water escaping the tank without a vent at top?
@creativerepairing2960
@creativerepairing2960 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. You might think that but septic drain field are not air tight. If you were to put a compressor hose into a drain field and tried to pressurize the field it wouldn't hold. The small amount of water volume in the 4 inch turn down elbow doesn't pressurize and keep water from going up the elbow. If you want to you could drill a small hole in the top of the turn down elbow if that made you more comfortable. In our area, the rainy season can bring flooding and when the ground is saturated drain fields can start running slow thus causing the water level in the tank to rise. If you have the open top "T" at the exit when that water level rises and solids start going over the top of the T your drain field will have a short life.

@creativerepairing2960
@creativerepairing2960 3 жыл бұрын
A sitting water level that high is certainly a challenge. Perhaps if you try a fix like this you should go more horizontal with your rock bed rather the deep. This might allow more discharge water to disburse above your water table.

I really enjoyed your video as I am trying to repair mine myself. I have a few questions tho-I thought you could help. I see a lot of these videos and no one ever discusses supplies needed such as mask or gloves, overalls or what. Am I being paranoid with trying to cover myself head to toe to work on this?

Hi Lisa, I am not sure I can give you a qualified answer on that but would reason to say if you are just digging a ditch and filling with gravel you are not working directly with raw sewage. I have had the septic pumping company out on various occasions and have asked their technicians if smelling the septic was dangerous and they have told me no and they are working with it every day. For safety I have always worn a "P100" respirator mask when working directly face to face with the septic. I am sure everyone has a different immune system and should choose what is best for their health.

Question. We had our tank pumped and and the guy said that there is backflow from the leach field.. does that mean the field is bad? Also it took less than two weeks for the tank to start overflowing.. and we need to get it pumped again.

I would say yes the leach field is bad. Pumping the tank doesn't solve the problem it just buys you the amount of time to fill the tank again.
