I got a 97 with the 350 in it just strait piped it with no converters it's loud AF gonna put the flow fx on it. It's got true dual exhaust so gonna have one on each side.

Just put the flow fx on my 2018 f150. But got the cutback side dump with dual 4 inch tips. None of the videos do it justice, it is one of the nicest sounding exhausts I've heard on the 5.0s.

Would love to see the flowfx on a Chevy 4.3l. I think I’m just going to wing it and throw one on. I went catless (clogged) with a super 10 knock off single chamber. Sounds good but it’s way too loud outside and inside. The drone actually rattles my brain and can give slightly blurry vision at 1500rpms. It’s too loud for how slow it is which it actually has some pep for a stock tbi 4.3l 5speed. So now I’m thinking throwing a high flow cat in and a flowfx or no cat and flowfx (which probably wouldn’t make much sense since it will be just as loud.

Small block will bolt right in. All joking aside though, if its an s10 chassis than I dont recommend you attempting that if you really dont know what you're doing. However if you happen to have a full sized chassis like a silverado, just yard find yourself a 350 in the same years, itll bolt right up and if its pre 96 everything will plug right in just the same as the 4.3. Same harness. and even if its not, the v8 harness will be easy to swap with the v6 harness on the post 96-99 some 2000 depending on what model. Super easy swap bro. You can probably find a good running 350 for a couple hundred bucks. Your starter is the same, flywheel is the same. I've built a TON of those trucks. I've got a 95 gmc 2wd regular cab short bed fleet side, factory v8 5speed. I've had it since it had 50k miles. Its mini tubbed, t56 swap with a dart 427. My advice and experience I suggest having the flywheel resurfaced while the motor is out, put a NEW clutch in it. A good heavy duty clutch, and make sure it has a STEEL slave cylinder. The plastic one will be junk in a week. I mean that'll get you started. If you get serious about it and have the money to spend and want to get some good performance out of it, let me know I'll tell you which heads you want to get, which to stay away from, cam upgrades, stuff like that. But just to have a 350 in it and driveable your only looking at $600-700.

I ran a magnaflow medium around 16" long on my 4.3 for years. Swapped a 5.3 in the exaust sounded good to this day. Straight thru will give you performance over the flow master 40/super 10. Flowfx is what im looking into now

Man I like the FX but i feel like it'll be too loud on my truck since I have long tube headers, no cats, 3 inch pipe all the way back with an x pipe. And I'm trying to make it have a nice tone like the fx or even the 40

No, the FX were originally made for smaller cars to help get that lower rumble. Like V6 guys that want their car to sound like V8. The canisters vs the full size were just made for proper fitting.

Why would anyone go up to 3inch then down to 2-1/4 pipe on a v8 truck? Go 3inch all the way. Almost no reason to open the exhaust up just to shrink it back down to stock or smaller than stock

Spending that kind of money on an exhaust when you are driving a 15 year old truck with factory wheels, is just stupid. Every time I see a shitbox driving down the road with an aftermarket exhaust, I just shake my head and laugh. Learn how to use your money more wisely. There are a lot of other things you could have purchased with that money that would have done a lot more to improve that truck.

Compared to the 40 is it Louder or quieter? I have a 40 on a Tahoe 5.3 and have an avalanche as well and didn't wanna do one as loud as the 40 So would this be a better option as far as being quieter
