Sucks to be Melbourne, having to turn up to the only two grand finals of that era (1988 & 2000) where the result was known with certainty before the ball was even bounced. Essendon's meltdown in the 1999 preliminary final and bad luck with injuries in 2001 prevented them going down as one of the greatest teams of all time. One premiership, even in the most statistically dominant season of all time, wasn't a good enough return.

ah, this game.I don't know about the game itself but the 2000 season was certainly one of the best for the bombers, and an interesting one all around. I wasn't born yet but I enjoy watching matches from this season, and I've watched this game twice. I love football (maybe too much)

I remember watching this Grand Final. It was a great Grand Final.I love your channel and content. I rewatched couple of times few 90s Grand Finals highlights from your channel. Nice memories. I miss 90s footy.90s and begining 2000s footy was The Best. I miss that era. Can you post sometime some Dockers games from the 90s. Continue posting highlight games.Thank you for posting. Just look for the white shorts as opposed to the black shorts, it's quite a contrast.

I remember reading an English journalist came out here to cover their first AFL game and was asked what they thought.. Their first response was the playing kits were unnecessarily similar. Yeah absolute perfect advert for alternate strips this one. White shorts simply nowhere near enough.
