Went to Gosford once and my overriding memory is that the viewing for spectators was rubbish. Apart from the far side of the track, all you could see were the riders helmets as they went past. It needed proper elevated seating, or something.

i visited Gosford twice along with matches all over Australia most tracks the spectators area were much the same only tracks that had good seating that i went to were Olympic park in Melbourne and the stadium where the held the first Grand Prix in Sydney.

@@russskinner Not been to either of those Russ, but I have visited Australia three times over the years to watch speedway and all the big venues had great viewing - Claremont, the Ekka, the Newcastle Showground and both Sydney Showgrounds. Even places like Murray Bridge and Liverpool had uninterrupted views, along with Gillman and Speedway Park in Adelaide, just Gosford stood out for me as poor. Lifetime of memories though, and I would not have missed any of it. Just a shame today's solo fans have so little to enthuse over and all the great coliseums have gone.
