Those northstars are no good! Head gaskets bolts will get you eventually

Unfortunately, no amount of preventative maintenance will prevent the head gaskets from blowing. The issue was that the steal head bolts were too narrow and the threads too shallow that it would pull the threads from the aluminum head right out. GM did try to fix the issue in 2000 by using longer head bolts, but this will only delay the failure. In 2005 they redesigned the head bolts which solved the issue. if you have a pre-2005, even if it was serviced by GM installing threaded inserts, the threads will fail eventually. The only way to solve this issue is by installing new head studs.

North Star engine requires a major ($4000) head bolt mod. After that you’re okay.

Beautiful color and combination. You don't see many in this shade of this year(usually they're white, black, or silver). Yup, as Anthony mentioned, this car introduced a ton of new tech for the auto industry like the full LED taillamps(MB S-Class only had LED brake lights, not turn signals) and the Night Vision system.

I just bought an Aqua colored 2000 Sedan Deville with only 62000. original Miles looks like this color with chrome Aluminum Wheels . Thing floats like a Smoothe Butterfly & sounds like a hot rod when gettin on it. Gotta love these Caddys & Lincolns !!!

Just sold mine... It was a 2002 Sedan deVille... Burgundy w/Shale Leather Interior. 12,000 miles (garaged). It was a very comfortable automobile! The mileage was unbelievable, I hit 29m/per gal. The Norstar Engine was Awesome! Wish Cadillac still had a car that rides as comfortable as this deVille... Why do we have to feel every crack and crevice in the road when I go to buy a loaf of bread and quart of milk??
