When he hit Sonny I always get a huge knot in my stomach! Like Sonny or not the abuse he went through as a child you can see on his face right after and it kills me!

It may be an excuse but because of Sonny's abuse is one of the main reasons why I love him.....he was damaged but he had a great heart.

All kinds of toxic behavior I would have called out otherwise I had a softer reaction to because I could see this little boy in him. The scene where he says he had never been bad enough for his father to hit him before was just uggggh. I think it's soon after this. Anyway, in retrospect, I cut Sonny too much slack. At some point you have to break cycles and be better so you don't take your trauma out on the people you love. While Sonny didn't hit people with fists, he certainly did so with words. I wish he had grown more than he has since 2000.

Now i am not making excuses but i hve to say this....there is a say that goes, circumstances make me what i am.....and ent that the truth.....Sonny said once that angry boys grow up to be angry men and he was right....but in my opinion, no matter what bad he does i will always find a way to forgive him.....being abused for years by a man that was not his father but who just happened to be a cop.....hving a father who basically abandoned him and his mother, not being able to talk about his problems, whereby all that trauma, hurt and resentment builds up.....imp he still turn out good....considering.

One thing I love about Carly she isn't afraid to step up for the people she loves. She'll jump in to protect Sonny or Jason in a heart beat when most women would coward in the corner.

You can hear the emotion in Sonny's boys when he's talking to his dad about him breaking his mother's heart over and over again and Mike is gambling againthe last time he gambled almost cost Sonny his freedom and Carly her life.

Mike called Sonny out, but Mike is the REASON Sonny is like that. i wish Sonny would have said, the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree sonny doesn't need someone to tell him his bad qualities, he's harder on himself than anyone could be. that he can't escape a destiny of turning into his father is probably his greatest fear.

True. But Sonny and Carly are the biggest hypocrites. They do despicable things and justify their actions but when someone else does something to fight back, they are despicable, horrible, blah blah. That is why I never liked CarSon as a couple. The hypocrisy is too much to take smh

I always hated the way Sonny spoke to Mike I understand he did messed up things but thats still his dad and he shouldnt have yelled at him, then hes surprised at how his own kids yell at him... hmm.

every time he tries to care about Mike he does something that reminds him of the pain he caused in the past. and I think he feels disloyal to his mother because Mike hurt his mom and made her give up on being loved. now she's dead, and for Sony to have a relationship with his dad (like he wants to have) feels to him like he's saying it's OK what Mike did to his mother. it betrays his mother's memory in his mind. That's why Sonny can't forgive. it's his only real emotional protection. He thinks forgiving gives someone permission to keep hurting him. Jason is very forgiving- he doesn't hold grudges, he doesn't need to. he protects himself in other ways. he's like a while tree... he bends with the wind. sonny doesn't bend- every hurt strikes him hard and threatens to destroy him. he never learned how to bend... his life experiences taught him that bending, even a little, was not safe.

Mike was a bad parent.....and calling Sonny out did not make him any better.....Mike should of been ashamed to do that considering that he was the reason Sonny became who he was.
