These and Suzuki’s were built in Ingersoll Ontario Canada till 2004. Then Chev and Suzuki parted ways. The passenger side axle seal that looks like it’s leaking is a sore spot in this front axle . There is not enough support at the seal area. There is a nylon bushing Suzuki came out with that goes in before the seal to take up some support of the axle itself. They are getting hard to find but the measurements are on line. I had 3 made at a machine shop and cost me $45 a piece. Ouch! Just some info I found useful.

5w30 is recommended for this engine. If you live where it doesn't get below 0 farenheit, 10w30 is fine. Synthetic oil is recommended if temps will be extremely cold like -22 or lower farenheit. This engine is also 5 quarts without filter change and 5.5 quarts with filter change. Once you start the engine then let it drain into pan and check it will be a quart lower than what it showed after filling and checking without engine start. 5 quarts will be right in the middle of add and full with an oil and filter change after engine start. If you don't know the capacity, you fill till dipstick shows full, start engine, check for leaks, then stop engine, check dipstick again and top off.

Can usually get good deals on 5 quart bottles. Which will bring the oil level on that engine halfway between add and full, after you start it and the engine gets filled instead of just all sitting in the pan.

The V6 model the oil filters are pain to remove.
@allenmckinney95334 жыл бұрын
Yep I always loosened them from the top and reach up from the bottom to swap them out. I considered putting a relocation kit on mine but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

At least you can get to the filter that easily. The 2.5l filters are harder to get to. It's funny that a Briggs and Stratton filter fits on the 2.5l probably the 2.0l too.

High milage oil swells the seals. Good if you have a leaky seal, but if not you are just messing up the seals will will always have to use high milage oil or else it will leak.

I get a 5 quart jug of full synthetic. Drain the oil, put plug back in, change filter, dump the entire 5 quarts in. After you start it, check for leaks, turn off, wait a minute, check the oil level. Should be halfway between add and full. That's how it was for me. Add another half quart and it's full.

hello, say hello and you're fine. I was watching this video of your oil change and I wanted to ask you if it is possible to give me some photos of the engine connectors and the hoses that go from the radiator to the automatic transmission I am new to this and right now I have a Chevrolet tracker with the same engine but with missing connectors thanks in advance😅

Btw, read online that full synthetic oil is best for this engine.
