i believe the right and left tensioners are from the point of view if youre sitting in the car so the right one goes on the passenger side

Correct, previous "mechanic" put them (tensioners) on backwards.

Hey man this was a fun video. Before my plow truck was my plow truck it was my wife's daily driver and she says to me the engine is knocking so I thought oh shit because It was going to be my plow truck. Its a 97 F150 with a 4.6 and 230+ thousand miles. I discovered it wasn't the engine it was the air conditioning pump , same as yours. All worn out and floppy which sucked because the air still worked , not that it mattered because I wouldn't need air in a plow truck. I looked up a video and found a guy that put a smaller belt on to bypass the pump. He gave the belt number out in his video , its a little narrower but works fine. Carry on. I'll wait for part 2

Thanks Dave. Yes, this truck had the shorter bypass belt on it as well. Heater core was bypassed also, PO just wasn't into fixing anything I guess.

On to part 2. Loved it so far and learned a little.

Use some pb blaster on your egr tube, especially down at the bottom where it threads into the exhaust manifold, keep spraying and letting it soak in, I also used a small pipe wrench to break mine loose.

Great video, I'm expecting to have to tackle this very soon because my final oil leak is on the timing cover and I'm certain I'll need to tackle all the issues here, including new AC compressor, but mine is still working okay-ish for now.

Startup rattle got me inside my engine now, but it seems Ford designed this 99 F250 4x4 to where if you need to replace any one gasket, you'll have to replace them all. Just to get to my timing cover, I'm having to open the valve covers, manifold and oil pan, none of which is at all easy and there's only a 134k on it.

Can I swap a 5.4 2v on my f150 it has a blown 4.6 block. Broken rod and piston.. just want to know if I can use the same harness with the Same computer of the 4.6 to run the 5.4..??
@MrUbiquitousTech3 жыл бұрын
Sorry so late Jose, I thought I had replied to this already. From what I understand the 5.4 will physically bolt in to your truck, but the computer will be wrong. SO the big question is can you simply plug in a computer for the 5.4 at the same time or is the wiring harness different as well. I don't know the answer to that, but it's an interesting question.

Are there more than the 4 of these videos?
@MrUbiquitousTech2 жыл бұрын
At the moment just these 4. I'll do a wrap up video later, but it's mostly informational, no more action in repairs.
