Huge thanks for uploading this vid. I was having the same issue, except in my case, when I took the instrument panel apart, I noticed that none of the connections were cracked. I still went ahead and added solder to each connection, without knowing what the result would be, but it seems to have worked! EDIT: 2002 Honda Accord EX Coupe 3.0

Hey thanks for this. I have zero soldering experience, but you made it look easy. Tip for anyone who has this problem and doesn't want to solder, I've found pressing firmly on the display while it's installed will allow the numbers to display properly. Cheers!

I bought a 2001 Accord a few months ago, and I have had this same issue occur a few times. I just give the odometer a thunk with my fingertip, and it resolves the issue. But now I know there's a permanent fix, so I'll add that to my list of things to do on the car. Thanks!

Very nice! ...absolutely worked for me...Mine had the same issue...tiny little crack around the first few joints...reflowed and added a bit of solder on the first 4-5 pins and all good!

Good video. thanks. My 2000 Honda Accord EX back white cover plastic was different and the odometer pin board too. It was ok, but there were 4-5 screws that held the main base to the outer shell/glass, one bottom torx screw in the vicinity of the odometer wasn't tight. Fixed the odometer.

What is that metal rod youre holding? Is that some random metal you use to heat and melt to the pins? Or is that a specific type of rod only for soldering boards?

How in the crap did you get the gauges off the front? You skipped that part, I haven't been able to figure it out and I can't find anything on doing it. Oh for the days these things were just screwed on.

Use a jumper to get the codes. Take the seat belt buckles apart and clean the microswitches with contact cleaner. Then reset the light. There are plenty of videos showing the process.

Question , to access the LCD pins to resolder. Is that accessible from removing the rear plastic cover? I noticed you also had the front cover off . Can you get at the LCD pins with out removing the front cover?

He acknowledged that he didn't have to remove the front dials display. Just prepare the back as he showed to get access to the pins if you haven't done this job already. I'll be doing it soon.
