2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 6x6 Revival!

We got this 6x6 at our local auction in dead row and gave it new life!
We sold it right after we sold our other 6x6. .

Nice quick flip. Some guys hot wire their fans because the sensor burns out and you overheat. Probably why yours was constant. Also, with the H.O. carb you intsalled, The difference between the H.O and non H.O was the cam had bigger lobes, the exhaust was bigger. Same engine just a bigger cam. The guy that bought it might have issues down the rode with the exhaust pipe turning cherry red. Just thought I'd let ya know.

I actually have kept in touch with him, and he has had no issues with it. He uses it to plow snow at 9,000ft of altitude, so it is probably jetted about right. Good to know about the cams, I didn't know they were bigger. Thanks for watching!

What was your selling price? I found one of these near me that the previous owner took apart to do some maintenance and never finished for $1400. Still researching these to see if that's a good price.

If he still has all the pieces than that's a reasonable price. I love 6x6s, in Colorado they have narrowed the trails so these are the way to go for hunting and camping. I bought this 6x6 for $1,000 broken, and got running it the video, it sold for $4000. Be careful about missing pieces though because some people tear things down and lose/damage parts. It helps if you have seen one complete so you can tell what might be missing. Other than that, check compression and the transmission, repairs on everything else is fairly easy but a full engine or transmission teardown takes time and money. Best of luck finding a 6x6!
