2:20 I think "to hear" is "słyszeć" not "słuchać".

I also think so. It should be changed to "słyszyć".

Hello. I think, especially with these types of videos, that you should be more specific with your vocabulary. “a sign” is completely different to “to sign” however all you have written for the English word is “sign” and this is the case with many of the vocabulary you use. There are also differences. To sign a document, which is podpisać as stated, but there is also: To sign to a deaf person (the act of non-verbal speech to communicate). I believe you should be both more specific by writing for example: “To sign (a document)” in your examples but in also stating the type of word it is... adjective/noun/verb. We are all here for language learning and greatly appreciate what you do, but it should be done in a non-confusing manner. With videos where you state so much vocabulary(2500 words), that in itself is a bit of a turn off because the watcher feels it’s too much to learn, even more so when your translations aren’t accurate and some are confusing. Keep up the good work but please try to satisfy everyone and defer from these misconceptions when listing the vocabulary, I feel some things need to be re-discussed with your team. Dzięki.

I agree with you on the point of confusion. I think they MUST specify whether the word is a noun or a verb, it's a MUST! BUT the lengths of the video is totally NOT a turn-off. In fact, it is a great TURN-ON because almost no one does long videos like this, which you can listen to for weeks. I've been coming home from work for the last 2 weeks watching 30-40 minutes a day (which is very easy to force yourself to do because your brain sees it as an interesting challenge) and improved my Chinese A LOT.

Also Polish has many cases in which these very words change their forms. Because of this the nominative case has a limited use for sentence formation and fluency. That is to say, that the nominative can be used only where one is referring to things by name. Also I noticed that some of these "words" are in fact reflexive phrases.

@@o0posh0o58 I think the idea that you need fluency before comprehension is wrong and even counterproductive. Before you can understand, fluency with a very basic set of words, of which you know many grammatical forms is not useful for anything except for passing exams and appearing cool. A child who was born in Poland cannot say many correct forms of words by the age of 2 and yet the child understands a lot! For example, my nephew has parents who speak Russian, a language that is grammatically very close to Polish. He is about a year old now and cannot say anything except for simple words like ''papa'', let alone the grammatical forms of the words! And yet he already understands tons of words and can recognize already known words (for example, a washing machine) even in other grammatical forms, even though it will be a few years before he will learn to say them correctly.

Thanks for your comment. But sorry to say that , they made videos only to attract people sign up on their on websites... for details of the videos here on KZbin, they probably don't care... they even put "deodorant" in this "2000 words for beginners" video... What can I say? LOL
@TypicalRussianGuy4 жыл бұрын
@@WallFacerJonSnow Yes, they did it only to attract attention. Unfortunately, the profit motive is still the leading cause of motivation, we are still leaving in a capitalist society. We might not like this fact but I guess both you and I would have done the same at their place. While this is not the best list of words in the world, is still a good source of information, even though it is a bit ''soulless'', I might say.

Is there a list available with the English word besides the Polish word? Basically a written file of this video.

How is this beginner ? Words like mosquito and literature in the first two minutes. I skip to the middle of the vid and get hit with “speed bump”, and “Ottawa” which is just Ottawa

As someone who has watched the whole video and is learning Polish seriously this video is not a good resource imo. Far too many unnecessary words (I am not even talking about trombone or silk as an argument could be made for these words) but almost 50 countries and even some American states (like why)? Some verbs that are in whole sentences meaning a beginner won’t even know which one is actually the verb such as “ chodzic na lekcje”. My recommendation would be to look at the Polish European framework A1-A2 vocabulary that is recommended ACTUALLY AND USED IN Poland and make a video using those words.
