Kalhane dam 1.south indian first water dam. 2.1080 foot long stone built kalahani dam was built by karikala chola from soldiers he had brought as prisoners of war during his "sinhala" conqest of digvijaya. The tamil Text "silappadikaram" states that karikala chola went on an Expedition to the parvatas in the Himalayas. (All this is what i studied during my exame if there is any thing wrong please let me know and i will correct it)
