2001, 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 honda cr-v crv srs module location. Airbag module
Mine was a standard shift but the process is pretty similar for the automatic just dont have to deal with the shifter.

I usually use srs reset services on ebay. Pretty inexpensive most run $50 you pay shipping out they pay the return

Dumb question. I need to disconnect the left srs plug to remove the dash and I can't figure out how the plug comes out. Thanks.

Should this be roughly the same for an 04 Honda element? I just tried to remove mine and couldn't see a way to get it out. The module looks bigger too... I have code 1-4 short to power to driver airbag inflator. Only thing shows up when I Google it is srs module reset due to stored crash data. The code before this said clockspring was bad but had it replaced, now this one...

Does that part always need to be replaced when airbags are deployed? My 2006 CR-V had a passenger side accident and that side's curtain airbag and seat airbag deployed. Can you tell me what exactly needs to be replaced in my scenario? Also, once I replace the airbags and whatever sensors, do I have to take it somewhere to be programmed or calibrated? Thanks for any help you can give.

Generally its best to put a scanner on it and see what all needs to be replaced, once youve replaced all the airbags that have blown you will need to send out the module to be reset as well as any seatbelts that have locked up. In some cases crash sensor can also go bad but usually they are fine. When reinstalling any airbags and modules you should always have the power disconnected from the car. Once everything is put back in you can take it to any mechanic with a decent scanner that does SRS and have them clear any past codes to completely remove the light

Thanks for the great info! I do have a scanner that can read SRS codes. Haven't checked yet since I'm working on the mechanical and body work first. I had assumed that sensors need to be replaced, but I think you're saying as long as they're not damaged, then they should be OK usually. Yes, I'll make sure battery is disconnected when I replace the two bags. My daughter was driving alone, so the seat belts are OK. So, you're saying that I have to send the module to be reset, so I guess that means I don't have to replace it, per se, just get it reset? To what kind of place do I send it? Thanks for any help you can provide.

@@genericusername1365 your front seat belts may still have fired. i was driving my crv alone and hit a bump and lifted the offside of the car a foot or two, no body damage but the side curtain bags went off and front belts and belt buckles (this wasnt obvious as the driver buckle still worked but the rubber gaiter had retracted) neither belt would move.

@@iskate248 It's been a while, so my memory's not perfect, but I replaced both airbags, then I removed the airbag computer module and sent it to a place in another state which reset it for me. I was charged something like $60 IIRC. I put everything back together. There was also some kind of scanner reset I had to do for the seat airbag. It literally takes a few seconds to reset that part. If I can find out what it was, I will post back here.

I need to replace flooded unit in my '14 crv. I read it needs to be coded to my VIN or else it MAY not work. If it will work, i don't want to pay a dealer to code VIN#. If i don't get it coded, will it still work in a crash and will i keep getting errors? Does it need to be coded to VIN and then installed or can i install and have dealer code it later? I want to buy a good OBD2 scanner to clear error codes and airbag light.

As long as the used srs box you buy has not been in an accident then it will work. They are not vin specific.

@@bearle97 It's brand new from honda dealer. I found cheaper online and dealer offered to sell cheaper. I'll check with the dealer and they'll try to lie saying it's VIN specific for my 14 crv. They charge $140/hr for anything computer related. I can't waste money on their BS. Thanks.
