They were #45 in Total Defense and #71 in Total Offense for 2001. Nebraska ended #6 this year in Total Defense and #7 in Total Offense. Miami was #1 in Total Defense and #3 in Total Offense. They were unstoppable.

N.U. losing big to Miami was understandable. To this day, though, I still can't figure out what happened in that Colorado game. And I'm sure I'm not the only Husker fan who feels that way.

@@gregoryfreeman2269 Albeit 4 years later... C.U. had two dominant offensive linemen who went in the first round of the draft. Also, I think pent up anger at the way they had lost to N.U. from 1996-2000 played a factor. When they got the chance to take it to us, they did.

I don't think that game was televised. That was the first game back from 9/11, and they played it on a Thursday night.
