Check your oil pump relief spring and valve. If that spring is weak or the ball and seat has any erosion on it then the oil will constantly just cycle back to the pan and won’t build any pressure. It’s located just behind the front cover on the driver’s side. You have to take out an allen plug to get to the spring, ball, and seat.

@, no problem. I cut my teeth on these engines, been working on them for 20+ years. They’re far more reliable than any new garbage.

@lane_ihkenamond3332 I'll have to check it out. I have been doing some research, i just got the truck and couldn't pass it up for what I paid for it. Once it warms up the idle goes up and down and if you rev it like in the video it goes back down and shuts off. Unfortunately this truck has a chip and doesn't do this in any other time just on daily drive tune. As for the oil, when the rpm's go up I'm the pressure goes up and the light goes off but when it goes down the pressure will go down and the light comes on but when you driving, it goes up and stay normal. The guy that had it put a cheap oil filter on it and thinks that's what may have caused that issue.

@lane_ihkenamond3332 not the kind i use but he used Rotella when he changed it and yes it was up to the full mark. I checked it multiple times to make sure he just hadn't put some in it to make it look like it was full but the few times I have ran it, it hasn't used any oil so far

I just worked on a 2017 I think, ford exploder that had this same thing going on. Took one of the valve covers off and there was a half inch of sludge built up. The pick up screen is definetly plugged up on this one. Maybe you can peek down in the valve cover to see what it looks like in there.

@@Milessavestheday the engine and transmission have both been rebuilt and has around 60k miles on them. Has stage 2 injectors and it is chipped, it only does it on daily driver tune but runs fine on the other 3 tunes
@buddyg558422 күн бұрын
@@hilham89It might just be a tuning issue then. Anytime you upgrade injectors (besides just changing the nozzle) you need to run a completely different tune or it won't run properly. Are you using a Hydra or TS 6 chip?
@hilham8922 күн бұрын
@buddyg5584 Oh, these were in it when I got the truck. I haven't done anything to it yet. When they rebuilt the engine, they put bigger injectors and the tuner on it. They had it for a while and then sold it to the guy I got it from, which didn't know much about them either. I have a 6.0 and know quite a bit about them, but a 7.3 with all this done to it is new to me and from what they told me it's a full force 6 position programmer. See on my 6.0 i have the sct, but I never use the tunes on it. I just use it to read the live feed and run the codes if needed. I feel like an idiot. I should have read your full comment, it is the TS 6. Sorry about that. It will not go into the first position though which is ran as stock, when I got it they said something was wrong with the knob which makes me wonder if it's causing other issues as well

@@hilham89 No need to feel like an idiot. You didn't do the upgrades to the truck so you can't diagnose it as easily. If you remove the knob of the TS 6 there's a small piece of metal that looks like a washer with a tab sticking out of it and you can position that into different slots to prevent the knob from turning too far into positions that don't have any tunes programmed into it. Somebody might have set it so it won't go into a stock tune because the truck won't run those injectors on a stock tune. You can find places that will reprogram the TS 6 so it runs the stage 2 injectors but it seems like the TS 6 is being phased out for the Hydra so you might want to look into upgrading to that tuner. The benefit of the Hydra is that you can program more tunes into it and you don't have to mail it to somebody to have new tunes installed. They can email you the new tunes and you can install them yourself. The downside is that it requires a little more effort to change the tunes while driving because you have to press the buttons to find and select the tune you want instead of just turning a knob like with the TS 6. But if the truck runs completely fine when the TS 6 is set to a certain tune then most likely this is just a tuning issue with those stage 2 injectors. Maybe the high idle setting on the TS 6 is the tune that's causing the issue because that tune runs completely stock except for setting the idle to like 1100 or 1300 RPM
