My mom bought this car brand new. She was down and back to the dealership throughout the entire warranty, with the 4wd going out 4 times. She made it 12 years, and 55k before the repairs outweighed the cost of getting a new car. It sure was fun to drive though, I learned on it (stick), and had that damn thing on 2 wheels lol

Lol my mom had one of these used 1000$ and it was such a piece of garbage it died 3 times the clutch went out and the exhuast fell off had 2 seatbelts in the back and 3 seats

YOU TOO?! My mom's was an EX 2WD Automatic (and I live in Michigan), also bought brand new, and I had it on 2 wheels one night on some ice... I almost rolled it on a curb. I still haven't told her. Hers lasted almost 18 years and 300,000 miles though. It would have made it if my uncle didn't wreck it! But you are correct, it lived at the dealer for various reasons from cupholders to about 4 alternators.

I have a '01 Sportage Limited, 5 speed manual. Daily commuter. Not fast, but overall good reliability.

The power windows problem could be just bad contacts in the switch. I fixed mine with taking it out and sprayed it with electronic cleaner on all the metal contacts

I was the master switch and BOTH of the regulators.

7:12 "...power mode, which, gives you a little more power off the line..." Absolute & utter bullshit. That switch *only* affected the shift points of the automatic transmission, holding gear changes to a slightly higher rpm level than shifts in Eco mode. It had nothing to do with actual power. Way to spread misinformation for generations to come, all in the interest of feigning knowledge to get the approval of strangers.

Wow... you told him! I'm glad keyboard warriors like your magnificent self patrol the KZbins to keep the misinformation about switches that affect literally nobody in check! Just think of all the embarrassment this misinformation could have caused because of all the people thinking the "power" switch may make it possible to win races! I'm sure, in some world somewhere you've saved a life with your correction.
