@ Wow thank you for bringing back this memory for me! To answer your question, no. Sadly it broke down before I had a chance to have it for myself. Currently I’m 19, I joined the army and bought a 2024 Honda Accord and I’m very happy with it. Everything works out in the end. 😁

@@cedricmiller2167 both of the engines the gs can come with are good. The 4L V8 and the 3L in-line 6. Both are very reliable however some people prefer the inline 6 because they are somewhat rare, are perfectly balanced (very smooth), and sound very cool.

My friend has a 1999 GS400 that he's had for years & has been a great reliable car. He also has a 1992 SC400 as well as a 1995 LS400. I'm not really a fan of those gauges, but great cars besides that. The styling of the 2nd & 3rd gen GS's has always reminded me of a Mercedes with the headlights & taillights. I have a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I bought used two years ago which has been an amazing car so far & may keep it forever. Lexus is the best!

i honestly dont know. here in central NY people love cars from pennsylvania(usually from the scranton auction center) where their all clean, no rust no rot.my parents got a 99' forester clean. idk how that happens but cars down there dont rust. plenty of cars down there dont have the underbody protection. maybe its just how much is put down or the strength of it. or maybe its just that people down there actually care about their cars and wash them often, unlike my cousin that hasent since day 1.

Yep- that means that one of the tail lights is burned out. (there are SIX of them on the 2nd-gen GS, too) So...you could one of the each of the same bulbs on both the pass and driver side out and not even notice. I actually PURPOSELY kept both of the outter-most bulbs burned out - because at night, it looks more like a Corvette than a Lexus GS! haha

@muchosa1 That's cool man, I was looking into purchasing a GS400 or GS430 ( I know the GS300 has the 2JZ tho). The resale value is really high for these though. I cant really see myself spending over 10 grand for a car that is this old unless if its a Benz or something like that. It is a really nice car, I love the interior styling and the raw power of the GS400 and GS430s.

+DaOldSchoolRapLova96 Gee, it's really hard to tell with these lame-ass "Reviews" this guy gives on youtube. "Hey look! The steering wheel moves back and forth, and the Brake pedal is to the LEFT of the gas pedal. Well, the glove box opens real good and here's the turn signal lever!" "Well, I hope you enjoyed another great car review !! What a joke these video posts are.

***** Absolutely correct! The only Japanese car that has good road feel and some Soul, is an Infinity. Lexus are numb and boring and most Acuras feel like warmed over Hondas.

I will be honest, yes it is fun to drive. I have a 98 GS 300. you have to understand how to utilize the car to make it fun. yes it is not a BMW but you still get the sportiness in the car. It is not a manual car but when you take the hills, it is fun to play with the gears especially in 3rd and 4th gear the way it holds. The cost of maintaining the car is not bad either. If you do want to tighten up the steering like a BMW, install a sway bar.

William Procope "Fun" is relative. If you grew up driving Alfa's, BMW, Porsche and Audi as I did, these are almost as boring as a Volvo. If you came from a Camry or Taurus, then i guess these would seem sporty.

Thanks for advice. My last car was a Is first Gen as my daily driver. It was the IS200 tho.with a 2.0 straight 6. I apsolutey loved it but sold it before emigrating to the USA. I was initially thinking to get another IS first Gen but always craved more power but didn't like tbe LS due to it's not sporty characteristics so a GS was.naturally always in mind for my next Lexus. The 400 seems like a awesome cars anyway and although you say rare I see a fair few for sale at any one time in north bay, CA. But I'm willing to wait for a good well looked after example
