2001 Lexus RX 300 rear spark plug replacement, don't do this!

I went to all of this work to replace the back 3 spark plugs and then I found out you can do it without taking off the intake manifold so that's how I took them out, through the back.

I have rx300 2001. Took me less than hr to replace coil and plugs in the back.Just need to remove the pvc hose out of the way, nothing else. Easy job.

That is exactly why I took my 99 Lexus to the dealership and had them replace my spark plugs saved me a lot of time and money

I agree with the time but I imagine that the money was a few hundred. I'm retired so my time is basically free.

@@drivewaygarage1561I was quoted 267 to do the back 3 this week. Yup. Just the back 3 cuz the front 3 take 15 min.

I removed the rear main seal in an engine in this type vehicle recently and your video helped with identification of bolts I had not properly labeled! I hope all worked out well for you and keeps going up!

I’m a girl and I did it in about 2 1/2 hours without taking all that stuff out. All you need is the proper tools and a flexible extension.

That's crazy!! I did all 3 in the rear in about 30 min without taking any of that off🤦🏽 the drivers side I took the throttle cable off & reached those 2, done.. the hardest one was the passenger side bc of a hose in the way so I carefully took it off bc of dry rot but that's it.. had I listened to every mechanic shop around I'd be just like you?! A garage of parts all for 3 little plugs, no sir....good luck putting all that crap back 🤦🏽

That pain in the a$$ manifold bolt by the firewall is a lot easier if you go underneath and jack up the backside of the engine gives you about another 3/4 inch of space
