It was actually one week later. If you remember, the 9/11 attacks caused the NFL to move week two to September 23rd, instead of it being on September 16th. Due to that, the Conference Championship Games were played on January 27th, 2002, and thus, the first ever Super Bowl in February happened one week later. However, for a bit, it had been a two week thing. But again, due to the 9/11 attacks, the Super Bowl was played one week after the Conference Championship Games instead of two. Also, Super Bowl XXXVII was played one week after the Conference Championship. Hope that clears up any confusion.

@freakyfornash

That and when Summerall wondered if the Eagles should go for two when they got their last touchdown, which initially bought to them within six, then kicked the extra point which made it a five point game? Like what would have seriously been the point of the Eagles going for two at that deficit, which would have done virtually no good?! They also seemed to think it was Freddie Mitchell who nearly blocked the Rams punt near the end, when that was clearly N.D. Kalu too! L.O.L.!

I think this was the year Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk finish as 1 and 2 in MVP voting. I read somewhere that was a controversial MVP Race. I would've given it to Marshall Faulk (2138 yards from scrimmage) because he had the better year than Kurt Warner (36TDs-22INTs)and was the Rams best player, but either way that MVP race really shows how dominant the Rams offense was.

Out of the four conference championship games the Eagles lost in the 2000's, this one was by far the least painful for them, and their fans. That considering they played a very good game against a team who few expected them to win against, while they were just beginning to become one of the NFL elites in 2001. That while they were heavy favorites when they lost to the Bucs, Panthers, and Cardinals as time went on. Even them losing Super Bowl 39 was much worse (despite them finally getting there that season), as they easily could have won that game, if McNabb didn't once again choke during crunch time, as he always found a way to do when it mattered most.
@JIB411
@JIB411 6 жыл бұрын
Can’t believe Mike Martz called a pass play on 2nd down with over 2 and a half mins left, the incomplete stopped the clock and gave the eagles a really good opportunity to come back with 2:20 left on their own 45 and a time out. McNabb typical choke job couldn’t get it done.

This is football before Goodell took all the fun out of it. Notice how few flags are thrown and how WR and CB battle every play. Rams would have put up 50 plus every week with these petty rules today. Summerall and Madden, physical play, teams actually allowed to play defense. I want real football back, not sure how much longer I can watch this crap product we have today.

More flags aren't his fault. The league was being sued for years in concussion stuff and everything. They we're gonna have to implement ways to make the game "safer" no matter who was commissioner. There's things to complain about with Goodell but this ain't it.

This rams team was frustrating at times . If you actually remember watching this year people used to get on Martz because at times he would almost abandon running the ball and just keep chucking it down field. If they had ran the ball more I think they would have won the 2 games they lost and won the super bowl that year . And because of this alot of ppl though Faulk wasnt a work horse that could handle 25 or 30ncarries a game and imo they were wrong n when Faulk got alot of Carrie's he absolutely dominated

Martz was the issue. In the SB against the pats he wouldnt run the ball and got out coached. After this year his ego was so bloated that he ignored Faulk and couldn't wait a year for Warner to get healthy. So they ditch Kurt for Bulger, Faulk gets hurt and they neglect their defense and completely fall apart within 3 years. This team was the class of the NFC from 99-01 and by the time Martz is done they squeak by at 8-8 in 04 then fire him after starting 2-3 in 05. Warner looked good for the Giants in 04 but they wanted to play Eli. Warner then goes to Arizona and outplays their young franchise QB while leading the Cardinals to a SB. Kurt Warner is a top 10 QB all time. Rams easily could've been a dynasty
