I'm working out of town. I recieve a call from my sister to come home. She tells me "Dad is sick" I ask , what is it? She tells me just come home. I get home he had died of a heart attack at 51. I was 21 That was in 91. Now I'm 51 to the day of the age he was. I have a son who just turned 22. The moral of the story. I never got to say Goodbye. Great song... Singing this one for you tonight dad. Your grandson is a awesome young man. One more time for good luck. Goodbye

Kelly Keagy, is definitely an under-rated songwriter singer, and musician. Probably due to him being a drummer. As a fellow drummer, it's EXTREMELY difficult to be a singer and drummer, let alone singing challenging leads parts. Kelly, good job brother! B
@mrwp81930010 жыл бұрын
Actually, with Jeff, Jack, Eric and Brad, did it matter who sang lead? They could make a house fire rock, But, if Kelly would just make the original noises...all would be right with the world. see... www.joblo.com/videos/movie-clips/boogienights-sisterchristian

I must have watched this a thousand times over the years and...it never gets old. While the album version is good...this version is just perfect as it conveys the gut wrenching saying goodbye to the ones we love and even ourselves from certain stages in life. From the opening with Jack and Kelly singing together to Kelly getting behind the drums and just pouring it all out. This may make me a wuss but, it totally chokes me up!

IMO, this is one of the greatest Pop / Rock songs ever written. Absolutely incredible. These guys were such amazing musicians and song-writers. Still are. I so wish that Jeff Watson was still in the Band. But I also understand about relationships. Sometimes it just doesn't work after a long while. I still love him - and still love Night Ranger. One of my All-Time favorite Bands. And this - this is probably my all-time favorite performance of theirs. Seen em' live several times, and they are one of my all-time faves. This is my favorite song of theirs - and one of my all-time faves - period. But this performance - EPIC!

@n8tureboy They played at the pavilion by the American Adventure. It was amazing. They played 3 separate 45-min. sets over the afternoon and evening, and we caught the first two. The first set was fully electric, and they closed with 'You Can Still Rock in America', and the second set was acoustic, with a great cover of 'High Enough' by Damn Yankees, and of course an incredible finale with 'Goodbye'.

I've been a fan of Jack and Night Ranger since the 80s and I knew abt his brother and that he wrote this song for him. Jack had been on Celebrity Ghost Stories abt an experience he had (not related to his brother) then a couple of yrs ago was on "The Haunting Of..."which is a follow up and medium Kim Russo tries to find out what the meaning of the experience was. I'd seen other ppl on the show and knew that a lot of times she gets msgs from their loved ones who have passed,and I had thought his brother will come through...sure enough he did! He gave Kim a msg abt how much the song meant to him. I know a lot of ppl don't believe in those things..but I do! I also know there are some fakes...but not Kim...I feel like she is very real!

It's no coincidence that you mentioned Damn Yankees, since Jack Blades was part of Damn Yankees (along with Ted Nuget, Tommy Shaw and Michael Cartellone). I mean, Blades is a very prolific songwriter, having written *tons* of songs not just with Night Ranger, but across a variety of records.
