Maybe Tasha did best at Olympics because she wasn’t overly worked and injured like the rest? They seemed exhausted by the time they got to Olympics in 2000. Maybe it was the training techniques hmm. But how I wish Vanessa Atler came back

Why is Al so obsessed with Tasha’s parents being card dealers? They live in Vegas and I’m sure it’s a popular job there. Nobody ever talked about how Kerri Strug’s father was a heart surgeon🤷🏻♀️ for example. I feel like he thinks craps dealer is some kind of wack-a-doodle profession and he loves to kinda “dig” on it, not sure why. But it comes off as judgmental to me.
@TopazChrysanthemum2 жыл бұрын
I think they thought it was a weird profession compared to something more normal, like being a heart surgeon. It might not be a strange job in Vegas, but outside of it, it's not something you hear everyday. They do harp on it a little too much though. But it's not the first time they've mentioned parents' jobs. With Shannon Miller they liked to bring up her father the physics professor, who used her as an example in his class.

Al is just disgusting in general. I hate his commentary. Somewhere I saw someone call him “Al Traut-pig” and ever since.. it’s all I can hear when he speaks. How awful for him to call Ashley Miles “the biggest he’s ever seen”. He could have at least clarified that he meant height so I’m glad Elfie chimes in. That’s just one example in five thousand, in my opinion.

I really hope Morgan white has sought professional help for her anxiety issues. She’s always been so painful to watch.

Marie and Vanessa Atler could be sisters. Wow! That fall hurt me. Poor thing. This was a rough time for WAG....No real standouts, and injuries nagging at seemingly everyone. I'm seeing a lot of flexed toes. How crazy that theyre trying to put together a World Championship team....and they're looking at scores in the 8's. Wow.
@mchur0015 жыл бұрын
Everyone was showing scores in the 8s. At the Goodwill Games every single person in the AA had at least one score in the 8s. At Worlds, every team scored at least 3 scores in the 8s. Romania won gold and had 3 scores below 9. USA was 3rd with 4 scores below 9, and Russia was 2nd with 5 scores below 9. That was just how difficult the new CoP was at the time. Only 4 scores in total in team finals score 9.500 or higher. Khorkina UB 9.700, Gomez FX 9.500, Raducan BB 9.675 and Raducan FX 9.562. It didn't have anything to do with not having real standout gymnasts, it was about low scoring routines due to the rules.

The 2000 & 2004 US teams were probably my least favorites of all time. It wasn't because they weren't talented or that they can't pull off the difficult skills, it was because none of them (except Amy Chow's bars) had anything that stood out to me during those 2 quads, and I often find myself skipping all their performances in both worlds & the Olympics. Anyone who had that special something like Vanessa Atler, Tabitha Yim & Hollie Vise were all either intentionally left out of the team or injured. Again, this isn't me hating on any of the gymnasts. I felt really bad for Morgan when she was injured and it was sad to see almost all the top US gymnasts in Sydney faltering in the prelims & not being able to show their full capabilities. It was just that none of them had anything special imo

I get what your saying. And I agree about Vanessa Atler and Hollie Vise in particular.

Yeah... They're kind of the most forgettable teams besides the 1988 team and any team before 1984 in general. But what about 2008?
@kevinburke60554 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. It was such a vague era nothing great about it. Once u hit 05 u had Nastia then Sacromone Memmel who started in 03 04 but didn’t shine till 05 and on. And of course Shawn Johnson came which led us to Gabby Aly and of course Simone. But again 00 to 04 very dull.
@mht49084 жыл бұрын
@@Cmc995 Yeah I think had Vanessa been on the 2000 team and had an extra few weeks to prepare, she could've brought home some individuals medals on vault and floor, and if she's lucky, maybe an AA bronze considering the vault incident. Her qualification results in the 1999 world championships for floor was enough for bronze in Sydney, her AA was also very close to Liu Xuan's result in Sydney. Had her coaches taken out that damn Comaneci skill, she would've been the leader of the US team

I was mad at the camera people for zooming in on Morgan White after her beam routine.. The girl was crying and sobbing and Mary Lee Tracy was trying too comfort her. The last thing that Morgan needed was a bunch of cameras in her face. Give the girl some privacy, jeez-a-loo.
