Thank you! Just performed this repair and could not have done it without your video. I taped the green wiring harness plug so that the tabs would not catch. I also pulled a guide string through when removing the old one, then pulled the new one back through. There is a cord clip inside the door that needs to be removed.

Thank you for this video! I was able to follow the steps you outlined to remove the old (broken) mirror. But when I try to install the new mirror, I can't seem to feed the wire harness through the small opening. It keeps getting stuck. Is there some trick to getting it to go through? I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the pins from the harness, even with buying the removal tool! Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks again for this very helpful video.

There is 2 different styles

Getting the inside door panel off is 5 fasteners and is easy enough. I couldn't pull the wiring thru with the plug still on. Disconnecting the plug with the 5 wires is easy. To enable easy removal of the harness is not so easy. I'd like to pull the wires from the plug without breaking it. How do you do that? To enable easy replacement I'll pull a guide line thru. so that the replacement wiring can be pulled back thru.

Steve D you can do one thing the harness connector can be removed but yet you have to know what position each wire goes to let's say they have a color code so they all have a number let's say for example a black wire goes to number to a purple wire goes to number 3 you know this is just an example but it's doable and yet you need a special tool to remove the pins from the connector
