2002-2006 Cadillac Escalade fuel filter replacement

I'm so sorry, to say that 04 scalade fuel filters were deleted, only the strainer which is part of the pump, if the fuel pump goes bad the strainer too, I hope this info will help.

FYI - on the 04+ Escalades, the fuel filter is in the tank. There is no in-line filter. Autozone will sell one to you, though.

2002-2003 only. 2004 and up is in the gas tank only!! It's a mesh screen on the bottom of the fuel pump. You will get a new one when you buy a fuel pump👍

Looked all along the frame rail for the filter, couldn't find it because mine is a 2004.

I would only use a crescent wrench as a last resort A regular wrench won't wiggle or slip off and snap the fuel line. They are Aluminum nuts and strip easy. Good wrenches are a must.

Wouldn't it be better to loosen the fuel lines before loosening bracket so less risk of lines flexing and kinking?

PedalTheGlobe it won’t be since you’re using 2 wrench, one to hold it in place and the other to loosen. If you remove it before the bracket, the fuel smell will leak through.

+Tivon Lyons The Older year vehicle is on the frame, the newer year vehicle is in the tank. So if you don't see it on the side frame then its in your tank.

my 00 Cadillac Escalade won't start after being driven to Walmart and then coming back out 20 minutes later so I think it's the fuel filter I really hope it's the fuel filter I can turn the key Forward one click and I can hear the fuel pump running I'm going to check the fuel pressure and if it's low I hope it's the fuel filter again... LOL

it can be either one, I've had an incident where the vehicle runs for a couple of miles, then dies and would only crank but won't start. It turned out to be the fuel pump... when the fuel pump goes, you replace the pump and the filter together. Lets just hope its the fuel filter lol.

B first thing I checked with the fuel pressure and it was low fuel coming out of the rail then I change the fuel filter after that it was the fuel pump I didn't drop that tank.. I cut a hole underneath the left rear passenger seat to access it

Guess after 04 they integrated them inside the fuel pump in the gas tank I just bought a fuel filter for my 06 though like ummm ,,,, they will sell u trash happily though

Not sure if you either have to drop the fuel tank to remove the fuel filter inside or you can remove it while the car seats off.

Hey, doew the fuel pump need to be original to the truck or can it be any fuel pump? have a Cadillac escalade ext 2002. I just know some cars require the original but im not sure for mine

Get the AC delco, that's what dealer uses I think. Make sure it's the right year, make, and model for your car. Also, some Cadillac doesn't have external fuel filter, so check your vehicle first before buying one.

Ok great video... 👌 well done..! I was reading some the Text here and I just realized that my 07 Ext Escalade fuel filter is in the tank... I just replaced the fuel pump 2 Weekes ago and the Fuel pump relay and the starter relay and the Ignition switch... but after it runs fir a while it dies or tries to die... Usually when you replace the fuel pump, you want to replace the fuel filter as well inside the tank with the pump.

meh, a lil gas to the face never hurt no one lol. Hey, you wouldn't happen to know where my sub is located in my 02 escalade? is it under the center console, or in the back? There is an aftermarket deck installed in it but the sub doesn't work with it. Not my doing lol.

You can cover it with a towel to prevent that too. I’ve been hit once with fuel in the eye when I was removing the fuel line lol, it was no fun.

Depends. In my neck of the woods (southern Idaho) they say at least once, maybe even twice, a year. It's very dusty here. Not nearly as dusty as Texas though. I bet they have to change theirs 2-3 times a year.
