My research: The transmission fluid needs 1 quart of ATF drained & refilled every 30k. Buy good brand water pump. Buy a Denso 221-0506 radiator rated for towing off Amazon . Inspect water pump monthly & have the better designed pump in your trunk ready. Your 2.4 L is going to have head gasket- like leak around 100K. The strong towing radiator will withstand said head gasket gases going into cooling system. Also, unscrew the reservoir cap so gases can escape thru there. Been driving this way for 40K when the owner was told she needed a new engine at dealership at 135K. It's now at 179K as daily driver. Still strong AC with original stock parts.

Your video randomly popped up in my KZbin feed. I've got a heavy equipment and trucking business with farming somewhere in there. I'm up north of Helen Georgia. I've got a bazillion trucks, vans, cars, machines, motorcycles...etc. Barring our only choice of USA made work trucks and vans and old classic USA cars...I'm done with domestic vehicles. Done. Made my gf dump her ford escape eco boost awd suv for a 2016 Corolla. For Xmas, got her a second car: 2000 Avalon with bench seat and NO SUNROOF. Supposedly had something wrong with it (valve cover leaks and misfire). I out front brake pads on jt and two tires. At Xmas, the preacher and daughter who owned the Avalon just wanted to poor mouth it at their church to get a new car gifted to them. I siezed on their scheme and snagged the car for literally nothing. Slickest used car I've ever gotten! Like a fckn dream. But that missfire? It has 190k miles on it. Scan code says lean bank 1 and knock sensor. I think it's a vacuum leak. I should let you guys diagnose it, possible fix it if it's just a vacuum line (it acts like the vacuum pod isn't opening butterflies intermittently) and make a small video of how GREAT this car is. Omg it's so good. Love the channel! * we aren't helping the market availability with teaching others how good these older Toyotas are.... it should be secret 🤫

About a month ago I bought a 2004 Camry XLE for $700. Very nice interior and really everything about the car. The catch is it had a blown head gasket and when I took the engine apart it apparently pulled the threads on the back three head bolts. It overheated and I looked online and apparently it’s a little more common with the 2AZ-FE’s then I initially thought. I fixed the issue with a Timesert kit and threw new parts at anything I see wrong, timing chain, tensioners, all new top end gaskets, etc. it runs and drives great now and I only spent about $2000 on the whole car including the price I bought it for. The problem with the head bolts pulling is the entire engine is aluminum with torque to yield head bolts. If it happens to overheat for some reason the threads are thin and stretch. It could happen to any of the ten bolts but is most common on the rear center three on the intake manifold side.

I recently sold it, and now I have a 1990 Toyota Camry as my fun weekend car. Suprisingly, I love the Camry more than the Skyline. It's not thrilling to drive, but man is it just legendary in terms of how it was built. 34 years old, more than 200k miles on the clock and it just refuses to let anything go wrong with it. I can let it sit for weeks and weeks on end and that 2 liter 4 banger just fires up right away. It even has the original clutch and tranny and it shifts like it rolled out of the factory yesterday. Everything is still fresh and it feels like an absolute tank in termsof how robust and reliable it is. It's cliche to say but they don't make them like they used to anymore, Toyota in the late 80's was just on another level.

Have a 2004 Camry XLE with a 4 cylinder. I got it used and it has about 170k miles now. Best car I've ever owned for the past 14 or so years. I keep thinking about upgrades but haven't made any yet.

06" LE V6 336,000 KM, I have done some repairs but the one thing that has been perfect is zero oil issues. Switched over to a semi-synthetic and when I get the oil changed I am told that what comes out looks as good as what is going in. One of the best cars ever made and the V6 3.0 is a fantastic engine. I usually get 550 km city driving and over 750km highway on a tank of gas. The only complaint I have is that I have to replace the gas cap every couple of years. The seals tend to fail and then the check engine light comes on.

I owned an 06 LE. Really liked daily driving it. Not from a performance standpoint. Another car from this era: Nissan Maxima

Toyota guy here if you change the valve cover gasket. It usually will fix the oil burning. Not an exact science and I’m not a wrench. Just saying it worked for me after many KZbin tutorials 😂😂 love cars love Toyotas cheers

I've got a 04 Camry with 291,000km's. Last year loaded it with 3 friends and a bunch of camping equipment and went on a 10,000km road trip around Australia, no issues except some creaky rear suspension.

It’s the valve seals not the piston rings that allow oil to go into the combustion chamber. When you start them it throws smoke out the tailpipe. This is only on cold starts. It also does happen on low mileage ones as it did it on my 2003 with 79k miles, 2003 with 115k miles and currently on our 2005 with 100k miles. Only on one of them was the smoke from exhaust really noticeable. Neither one burned enough oil between oil changes to have to add oil. They are also the most reliable of my cars and required ZERO repairs. Two of them driven to 200k miles then sold running good and current one zero repairs at 104k miles.

03 Camry here. 2.4 motor with 287k miles. Everything original except for the radiatior which just got replaced about 4-5 months ago. And its a manual, which is the only manual Camry of this gen ive ever seen in person. I bought it from my buddy in 2018, and his mother bought it brand new. So i will literally drive this car for the rest of forever.

My wife purchased a Toyota Camry XLE in 2003. She still drives it daily. Other than routine oil changes, one set of brake shoes, the vehicle has never been in the shop. It is kept in the garage when not being driven, and therefore the paint is still in excellent condition. No one has ever ridden in the back seat and therefore the upholstery and floor mats are in excellent condition. Several times I have offered to buy her a later model and she refused each time. I drive a 2016 Camry XLE hybrid which she will not drive because it is push button start and not key. I have also owned a 2005 Tacoma, and a 2009 Tacoma I drove each of these vehicles more than 500,000 miles (my travels averaged 145,000 miles a year). In addition, I owned to Tundra's. The number of times we have had mechanical issues with any of these 6 vehicles is ZERO. Other Toyotas we have owned are a 1971 Toyota Corolla, and a 1973 Toyota Corona.

I had a 05 Camry loved it, great on gas. Good size, you could do everything you wanted to in it as far everyday stuff. Drove mine back home to NY from GA twice with no issues. When I bought in 21 it had 189k miles wanted to see if I could hit 300k, but ended up getting into an accident when some butthole turned in front of me with out signaling, smashed the whole front end up. It’s been hard to find a car as good as that one for decent price ever since.

This is the engine that has the blown head gasket/loose head bolt problem. I understand it's really common on high mileage Camrys, although I bought one for my daughter several years ago that now has 265K miles and it hasn't blown yet.

Man, I really, really love how you stomp on all the pig-headed American things that people say to justify their materialism like: "I need a truck because occasionally I haul things-" "No you don't! This will occasionally let you haul things." Finally some blue-collar common sense from a car guy!

It absolutely is a sports car! And a daily driver. And an offroad racer. Put a body kit, exhaust work, fresh paint, spoiler from a Celica and I love this car! Not to toot my own horn here, but I have a couple vids showing it on my small channel from a couple years ago. This was my first car and I will drive it until it blows up. It has gotten me through cross-country moving from Cali to Georgia most recently, a few Rallycross races, and a whole lot of "that's a Camry?" from people. The inline-4 has a sexier exhaust note than the V6, also--sounds like a WRX almost with a nice exhaust.

I have a 06 Camry LE 3.0 v6 with almost 300k miles on it. Greatest car I have ever owned. I have had no major problems with it. Got it when it had 113k miles on it. I get about 24-25 mpg with the V6.

The first car I purchased (after HS) was a 2002 Toyota Camry LE. Although, it was not the most comfortable, it was bulletproof! Fast forward...my kids drive a 2014 and 2011 Camry, plus we do all of our own maintenance.

QUESTION! I have a 2006 Camry LE 4 cylinder... But, it has a rear spoiler and says "North Shore Edition" on both sides. I can't find anything on that. Anyone heard of that before? It's supposedly all stock, which it does look stock.

I've got two 2005 Camry LEs. 180k and 255k miles, respectively. Just had to do wear item replacements on them - but the paint sucks. They still drive great. Biggest improvement I made to them was adding in top and bottom front strut bars - really, really tightens up the front end. It's like driving a totally different car. My only complaint is the anemic brake feeling on the models with front disc and rear drum brakes. You really gotta push that pedal before you feel it braking - which is does amazingly at that point! But for the first second you are a bit worried your brake are gone.
