Actually not just college kids drive these, I own a 2004 Monte Carlo SS and I'm not in college, I bought mine working at Dollar General, where I still work today. Great video! That Monte Carlo has the limited edition High Sport appearance package on it. You can tell by the limited edition wording and the bowtie on the dash (1:42). Also, the NASCAR inspired spoiler, the full ground effects, stainless exhaust tips, and 5 spoke diamond cut rims (same as the Pace Car edition). They are pretty much a Pace Car edition minus the decals. High Sport Montes are pretty rare cars. I have a Competition Yellow 2002 High Sport Monte Carlo SS and haven't seen another one like it.

I got the limited 02 high sport limited edition on dash with bow tie everything you mentioned I’ve been looking and looking why my exhaust tips chroMe look so sweet and and spoiler is different than others and lower how rare lol I was just about sell it literally cause I really need cash I love it lol

I had one loved it until catalytic converter problems, and electrical problems, but it looked bad ass. I shed a small tear everytime I see one.

My 01 SS has 2 names... when I show her name is Tazmaniac when I’m w/my family & b-friend its MonteG ( combo of its name & my first initial). I had 2 Catalytic’s replaced under factory warranty & on #4 ( I only have 102,000 mls on her now. I bought her late 01 w/ 4200 miles )

I think it's a common occurrence on the W-body. My family had a '01 Grand Prix that had the same issue. I may have said that in the video.

...Ever trunk surfed your Monte Carlo for an extreme ride, somewhat of a roller coaster experience? Just climb on, hold on tight, and don't scream. Here's a video I did of my ride on the back of my Monte Carlo, someone else was driving. Monte Carlo's are an amazing ride, even from on the decklid. 17" wheels, 235/55 tires. I'm not sure the width of the wheel but I think that could probably be figured out by tire width.

It's a straight pipe. No muffler and no cats, if I remember correctly.

I would not recommend it. You can buy one already in good shape for probably $2-3k. It might be worth getting a supercharged model of the W Body as a project, though I'm not sure the Monte Carlo ever got the 3800 supercharged.

It depends on the miles. It's probably not a bad price if it has less than 120k miles. Definitely look it over closely regardless.
