I had this engine in Siena. No more than 1100kg weight and 103HP oferred a good acceleration and flexibilty.

You should go with intermediate throttle when the synchronous ring is already running out. Yes, it takes longer, but it is incredibly gentle on the gearbox.

The 1.6 gasoline engine on this car actually likes to rev a bit. Unfortunately the car weighs a lot and the gears are set to ease city traffìic rather than higher speeds, so... it actually revs about 4000 rpm at 120/130 already i think. It is so unbearable that many owners swapped the 5th gear of the gasoline version with the one from the diesel version (which gets you at least 400 rpm less at the same speed at 130km/h).

Well, they age kind of badly, steering gets some play if the tires are overpressured. Also the front axle has a lot of weight on it and needs regular maintenance. The electrical circuit is also one of the main issues with these cars, you can get many related issues and any of em can be related to shorts in the circuit or bad contacts. The gasoline engine actually isn't that bad but the diesel one is much more suited to it (even tho it weights even more).
